Interactive sports are the best way to have an energetic start on a hot summer morning! Both Primary and Secondary Summer Program participants kicked off Day 2 with a variety of ball games. 🔴🏸🟢🤾‍♀️🟡🤾🏻‍♂️🔵 It's not only a fantastic way to get active but also a great opportunity to work in teams and make new friendships! 🤝💪

NIS 2023 Summer Program Applications Open!

NIS is excited to offer a one-week STEAM-focused Summer Program in 2023 for students entering Gr. 3-8. This year’s Summer Program will provide an opportunity for students to explore the fascinating worlds of science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Our program will offer hands-on, project-based learning experiences that will challenge and inspire students to think creatively and critically. Students will have the opportunity to inquire while working with technology thinking tools to gain practical skills and collaborating with peers.

This year, the five-day program will be for one week only - from July 31-August 4.

During this week, each group will focus on a particular STEAM area:
Grades 3-4: Engineering and Physics
Grades 5-6: Material Science and Physics
Grades 7-8: Engineering, Chemistry and Physics

Admission to the NIS Summer Program in 2023 is open to students age 8-14 (entering grade 3 through grade 8). Eligible students must be currently studying full-time in an international school (or school outside of Japan) which uses an English-based school curriculum AND also not enrolled in the Japanese school system.

This summer, due to loosened travel restrictions, a significant number of NIS staff who can finally travel are, understandably, returning to their home countries for the first time in two years. Therefore, NIS can only offer one session for the 2022 Summer Program, and it will take place August 1-5. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, but we look forward to welcoming your child this summer for our one-week program! Next summer, we hope to be able to return to two sessions (if not more!).

We did some cool experiments in science classes today! The Orange Dots and Yellow Dots created invisible ink and wrote special messages to each other. The Green Dots attached a thread to ice cubes using salt!

Thank you to all parents and students for your corporation and patience as we start the first day of the 2021 NIS Summer Program. After the registration, T-shirts distribution and introduction to the NIS Safety Procedure, students jumped into our first classes.

We look forward to welcoming you to Session 1 of the 2021 NIS Summer Program next Monday!
All students and their parents will be greeted at the gate, where the body temperature of parents (first day only) and students will be measured and a name sheet for parents to display at pick-up time will be provided.
