In today's session we tackled character development and constructed our own Cookiebots. We also danced and learned about telling stories through movement and music. Great work to this fun group of six year olds!

A few pictures from today's Cookiebot! workshops I conducted at The National Gallery Singapore for the Singapore Writers Festival.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Cookiebot! reading event today. It was wonderful to watch the children busily creating their own robots with the help of their parents. In some cases it seemed as though the adults were enjoying the free building session more than the kids. It's always nice to get out of our heads for a while to create and play.
For those of you who couldn't make the event today, there will be another Cookiebot! session next Saturday. Go to Singapore Writers Festival and search my name or Cookiebot! I'll also post the link here later on today.
There's a book shop set up in a white tent on the lawn outside the Asian Civilisation Museum where you can purchase our books and more, and there will be a book signing there after Saturday's event.

The other day I received this photo of a boy named Harry and the Cookiebot he built with Lego. His mum says Harry was quite inspired by the ending of the book, and now many of his toys are involved in 'sugar crash' situations. ;)

Over the next ten days I will have the pleasure of reading to more than one thousand students at fourteen schools around Singapore. This tour is organised by Words Go Round through the National Arts Council. Thank you for inviting me to participate !

I will be doing a reading of Cookiebot! A Harry and Horsie Adventure at the Tokyo Montessori School Christmas event this Saturday, Dec 6th at 1:30pm. They are raising money to buy books for their library and accepting your old favourites in their book bin. Come and join us for the reading, as well as art workshops, a tree lighting ceremony, a violin concert, snacks and more.
