Re-Inventing Japan Project B-1 Networking Event for Jan. 22

A final symposium to review the performance of the Re-Inventing Japan Project will be held from 14:45 on Friday, January 22, 2016 at Ono Auditorium, Waseda University. The project, supported by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), has been conducted by seven universities for a five-year period.

Two TiROP outbound students from Tokyo Tech, who were dispatched to partner universities in 2015, will make presentations in Part 1 of the symposium on the theme of “changes in my surroundings and myself as a result of participation in the TiROP program.”

In Part 2, faculty representatives from participating universities will serve in a panel discussion on the effects of the Re-Inventing Japan Project on each university and report each university’s plans following the conclusion of the project.

ネットワーキングイベントのご案内（1/22）

今年度終了となる本事業につきまして、このたび、採択7大学と5年間の総括シンポジウムを平成28年1月22日（金）14：45より早稲田大学で開催いたします。

第1部では、今年度TiROP派遣プログラムに参加した学生2名が、「プログラムへの参加前と参加後を比較して、自身もしくは周囲に起こった変化」というテーマで発表します。

第2部は、本事業がもたらした自大学への効果と事業終了後の展開について、採択大学の代表教員によるパネルディスカッションが行われます。

平成27年9月20日から23日まで、オックスフォード大学ペンブローク・カレッジにて開催されたシンポジウムに、修士・博士課程学生9名がTiROP派遣プログラムの一環で参加いたしました。
Nine Tokyo Tech master’s and doctoral students, participating in one of the TiROP outbound programs, gave presentations at the UK-Japan Symposium 2015, held September 20-23 at Pembroke College, Oxford.

平成27年10月28日、グローバル理工人育成コースで実施された欧州超短期派遣団との合同報告会にて、TiROP英国超短期派遣団も帰国報告をいたしました。
The TiROP Short Visit Program team members reported on their experiences in the UK at a debriefing session held October 28. Students who had visited France, Germany & Austria, and Sweden in short-term visit programs organized by Global Scientists and Engineers Course also shared their experiences.

平成27年9月16日から27日まで、TiROP超短期派遣プログラムにより学部3年生6名が、ロンドン、オックスフォード、ケンブリッジを訪問いたしました。
Six third-year undergraduate students visited London, Oxford, and Cambridge under the TiROP Short Visit Program, conducted September 16- 27.

As part of the TiROP Summer Program, the "Women in STEM Panel Discussion" was held on July 13. It was our great honor to welcome Ambassador Caroline Kennedy from the U.S. Embassy, Tokyo. After the Ambassador shared introductory remarks, six panelists, including Anastassia Bobokalonova (MIT, TiROP inbound student) and Eri Takematsu (Tokyo Tech, TiROP outbound student), discussed issues related to women in STEM fields. The head of the NSF Tokyo Office and international/Japanese faculty members also participated in the panel. The event was attended by TiROP students, Tokyo Tech students, and high school students.

The last High Tech Japan class on June 26th traveled to Tokyo Gas Ohgishima in Kawasaki. Taguchi-san our energetic tour guide made our visit memorable.
