Enjoyed the time this morning to teach how to to do Takigyo, waterfall purification, before Aikido training this morning. She’s an amazing Artist seeking out the aesthetic way in Japanese culture, artistry and craftsmanship. Such a memorable experience to share. Congratulation to Slay one of my senior students on opening his dojo to spread the White Rose ethos in Mexico. Great achievement and continued success for you and your students. I’m looking forward to 🌮 and 🍺 on our first visit.

Lunar eclipse tonight…a nice surprise having a 🍺 on the balcony. It looked a bit like Armageddon at first, but google saved the day and we can relax 😃

In Japan, a tsukubai (蹲踞) is a washbasin provided at the entrance to a holy place for visitors to purify themselves by the ritual washing of hands and rinsing of the mouth. During COVID-19, the temples in and around Kyoto have gotten a little creative for the visitors! This lovely display is at Kurodani in our neighborhood.
