昨日8月16日は、京都の夏の夜空を彩る有名な伝統行事「五山送り火（ござんのおくりび）」の日でした🔥

日本では8月にお盆という期間があり、京都の人々はこの時期にご先祖様の霊があの世から私たちの元へ帰ってくると信じています。しばらくの間、家族と一緒に家で過ごした後、再びあの世へ無事に帰れるようにと、祈りを込めて山の送り火に点火するのです🙏✨

ちょうど最近の京都は、例年の厳しい暑さに比べるとだいぶ涼しくなり、過ごしやすくなってきました。夕食後の散歩がてらに、この京都ならではの夏の風物詩を観覧するには絶好の機会でしたね🌙🚶‍♀️

当校の学生たちも、日本の文化を体験しようと見学に行ってきたようです！後からたくさんの素敵な写真や動画をシェアしてくれました📸

学生の皆さんが、教室での日本語の勉強だけでなく、こうして日本の行事や文化に直接触れて楽しんでくれていることをとても嬉しく思います😊

これから秋に向けて、京都はさらに美しい季節を迎えます。引き続き、みんなでたくさんの思い出を作っていきましょう！🍁

Yesterday, August 16th, was the day of "Gozan Okuribi," a famous traditional event that beautifully illuminates the summer night sky in Kyoto. 🔥

In Japan, there is a period in August called "Obon." People in Kyoto believe that during this time, the spirits of their ancestors return to us from the afterlife. After the spirits have spent some time at home with their families, bonfires are lit on the mountains with prayers to safely guide them back to the other world. 🙏✨

Recently, Kyoto has been much cooler and more comfortable compared to the intense heat we usually experience this time of year. It was a perfect opportunity to go for a stroll after dinner and enjoy this quintessential Kyoto summer tradition! 🌙🚶‍♀️

It seems our students also went out to watch the fires to experience Japanese culture firsthand! They shared so many wonderful photos and videos with us afterwards. 📸

We are absolutely thrilled to see our students not only studying Japanese in the classroom, but also directly engaging with and enjoying Japanese events and culture like this. 😊

As we transition into autumn, Kyoto will become even more beautiful. Let's continue to make many more wonderful memories together! 🍁

SCG日本語学校では、夏休み前最後の授業で「オリジナルうちわ作り（DIY）」に挑戦しました🎨

真剣にデザインを考える姿や、完成したうちわを見せてくれる皆さんの笑顔がとっても素敵でした😊✨それぞれの個性が光る、世界に一つだけの作品がたくさん生まれましたよ！

京都は相変わらず厳しい暑さが続いていますが、皆さんの楽しそうな姿と元気なパワーに、スタッフも癒された1日でした🍵🌿

明日からしばらく皆さんと会えなくなるのは少し寂しいですが……

Summer vacation is finally here! 🌻✨

At SCG Japanese Language School, we tried making DIY original uchiba (traditional Japanese hand fans) in our last class before the break! 🎨

It was wonderful to see everyone working so seriously on their designs and showing off their completed fans with big smiles 😊✨ Many unique, one-of-a-kind creations were born!

Kyoto is still experiencing severe heat as usual, but seeing everyone having fun and full of energy made it a healing day for the staff 🍵🌿

It will be a bit lonely not seeing you all for a while starting tomorrow, but...

When you think of Kyoto in July, the historic Gion Festival immediately comes to mind! 🏮✨

Believe it or not, the festival's climax—the Yamahoko Junko float procession—passes right near our school! 👀📍

天井がクリスタルになった特別なバスに乗って、京都市内をぐるっと巡りました😊✨

⛩️平安神宮では歴史や文化にふれ、
🏯金閣寺では美しい景色を楽しみながら散策しました。

移動中のバスの中では、学生たちがそれぞれの国の有名な歌を披露してくれました🎤✨
バングラデシュ、ネパール、中国、ミャンマー、スリランカなど、さまざまな国の歌が響き、まるで国際交流イベントのような楽しい時間に🌏🎶

教室を飛び出して、日本の文化や京都の魅力をたくさん発見できた一日でした🌸
学生たちの笑顔もいっぱいです😊📸

これからも楽しく学びながら、日本での思い出をたくさん作っていきましょう！

We took a special bus with a crystal ceiling and toured Kyoto city! 😊✨

⛩️ We experienced history and culture at Heian Shrine,

🏯 We enjoyed a stroll around Kinkaku-ji Temple, taking in the beautiful scenery.

During the bus ride, the students sang famous songs from their respective countries! 🎤✨
Songs from Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and other countries filled the air, creating a fun time that felt like an international exchange event! 🌏🎶

It was a day where we stepped out of the classroom and discovered so much about Japanese culture and the charm of Kyoto! 🌸
The students were all smiles! 😊📸

2026年6月5日（金）、京都市内の会場にてSCG日本語学校の入学式を開催しました。

各地域から選ばれた代表学生たちが、日本での夢や目標について、緊張しながらも立派に日本語で抱負を語ってくれました。その姿は非常に頼もしく、これからの成長が大変楽しみに感じられる瞬間でした。

2026年6月5日（金）、京都市内の会場にてSCG日本語学校の入学式を開催しました。

今年は、ネパール🇳🇵、スリランカ🇱🇰、ミャンマー🇲🇲、バングラデシュ🇧🇩、中国🇨🇳の5か国・地域から約300名の新入生を迎えることができました。

式典では、各国・地域の先輩2年生代表が歓迎のスピーチを行いました。日本での学習や生活の経験をもとに、わかりやすい日本語で新入生へエールを送りました✨

また、1年生代表によるスピーチでは、日本での夢や目標への強い思いが語られ、会場は温かい拍手に包まれました👏

【2026 SCG Japanese Language School Entrance Ceremony】

On Friday, June 5, 2026, SCG Japanese Language School held its Entrance Ceremony at a venue in Kyoto.

This year, we were delighted to welcome nearly 300 new students from five countries and regions: Nepal 🇳🇵, Sri Lanka 🇱🇰, Myanmar 🇲🇲, Bangladesh 🇧🇩, and China 🇨🇳.

During the ceremony, representative second-year students from each country and region delivered welcome speeches. Drawing on their experiences of studying and living in Japan, they shared encouraging messages with the new students in easy-to-understand Japanese. ✨

In addition, a representative first-year student gave a speech expressing strong hopes and aspirations for the future in Japan. The audience responded with warm applause. 👏

Congratulations to all our new students on your enrollment!

不安（ふあん）や期待（きたい）など、いろいろな気持（きも）ちをもって

このたび、はじめてバングラデシュを訪問（ほうもん）してきました✈️

文化（ぶんか）のちがいにおどろく場面（ばめん）もありましたが、
それ以上に、人々（ひとびと）の温（あたた）かく親切（しんせつ）な人柄（ひとがら）に
たくさんふれることができ、心（こころ）がほっこりする毎日（まいにち）でした☺️

学校訪問（がっこうほうもん）では、実際（じっさい）の授業（じゅぎょう）や
学生（がくせい）たちの熱心（ねっしん）な学びの様子（ようす）を見ることができ、
とても有意義（ゆういぎ）な時間（じかん）となりました📚✨

また、首都（しゅと）ダッカだけでなく、ボグラやクシュティアなど、
さまざまなエリアを訪問（ほうもん）することで、
バングラデシュという国（くに）の魅力（みりょく）をより深（ふか）く知（し）ることができました🌏💫

🇧🇩 Report on Our Visit to Bangladesh 🇧🇩
We recently had the opportunity to visit Bangladesh for the very first time✈️

While there were moments when we were surprised by cultural differences,
we were deeply touched by the warm and kind-hearted nature of the Bangladeshi people.
Each day brought heartwarming encounters that left a lasting impression☺️

During our school visits, we were able to observe real classes and see how passionately the students are learning.
It was a truly meaningful and insightful experience📚✨

In addition to visiting the capital city Dhaka, we also traveled to areas such as Bogura and Kushtia,
which gave us the chance to discover the diverse beauty and depth of Bangladesh as a country🌏💫

We look forward to reuniting with the students we met during this visit when they come to Japan in 2026🇯🇵✨

We sincerely thank all the schools and education agents who welcomed us during our stay.🙏

We were warmly welcomed and had the valuable opportunity to observe actual classes and students.
