FESは小さなお子様から様々な職業を持った大人達が楽しみ、思いやりと友? I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts. I am married to a Japanese man and have four children.

こんにちは、

私の名前は、池田フランシーンと申します。マサチューセッツ州のボストンと言う街で生まれ育った私は３０年以上も前に日本に来日してきました。そこで日本人の男性と結婚し、４人の子供を生みました。１７年前にこの神戸という港街に移住し、１９９４年にＦＥＳを開校しました。

日本へ来日した私は子供が幼かったころ、ある決断を下さなければなりませんでした。それは私が自ら努力して子供達に英語を教えないと、日本の社会で育った子供達と素直に会話が出来なくなるとわかっていたからです。そういった事情を元に、海外から帰国する日本人、日本で生まれ育った国際的な子供達、また英語や海外の情報及び文化に興味のある生徒が集まれる場所、また自分たちを素直に表現できる空間を作ることにしました。

私は色々な国と文化を今まで見てきました。今になって英語とは文化を象徴するものではなく、お互いの文化を分かち合えるために必要

な言語だと私は信じております。私の仕事は生徒さん一人一人に自分と言う人間に自信を持たせ、英語を使って自分の意思表現をできるようになることだと思っております。世界は様々な種類の人が住んでおり、その世界には多数の文化と言語が存在します。

私の目標は、生徒さんたちに世界中の人々とコミュニケーションする為の力を養う環境を作ることです。

これからも、子供達には国際社会で必要な語学と強いチャレンジ精神を持てるようになる事を目標として、笑顔のあふれる楽しい空間でレッスンを続けていきたいと思っています。

My name is Francine Georgina Ikeda. My family and I have been living in Kobe for 17 years. I came to Japan as an adult, so when my children were small, I knew, I had to make a choice. I knew, I would never be able to fully communicate with my children in Japanese. I knew it would take more than daily language to truly understand and communicate with my children, so I undertook the sole responsibility and realized it could be done by combining the children who came back from English speaking countries, foreign children raised in Japan, local children, and mixed children like my own. With this in mind, from my home, a unique English school, age specific original program was developed to teach our children. I have traveled to many countries and have friends from all over the world, we communicate in English. English has been a tool to communicate and understand other cultures and people. My job is not to indoctrinate, but to bring out the colors that lie in each individual student. We are all different, and the world is a big place with many different languages and cultures. My goal is to create an environment to help our children realize they too have a chance to speak and communicate with people from all over the globe. I continue to have a strong challenging desire to educate and create the best possible environment for our children while having fun. Please come and have a look at our school. おはようございます☔️ 雨が降り続き、警報が出ている場合、FESは本日休館となります。15:00までに天候が回復し、お子様の通学が安全であれば、FESは通常通り開校いたします。インスタグラムのストーリーでお知らせいたします。

Good morning:) Regarding the weather warning on 5/28. If the rain persists and the warning is still out, FES will be closed today. If the weather clears up by 15:00 and is safe for your child to commute, FES will be open as usual. We will keep you posted via Instagram story.
