My heart is so heavy for everyone in our beautiful Okanagan community and surrounding areas who have been affected by the wildfires and experiencing heartbreaking losses over the last few weeks.

To the firefighters, first responders, volunteers, and frontline workers who have been working around the clock to keep our communities safe: there are no words big enough for the gratitude we all have for you. You are running toward the danger the rest of us are running from. You are truly heroes.
And to everyone who has been evacuated, who is waiting for news, who doesn’t yet know the extent of the damage, we are here for you and thinking about you constantly.

Watching our community on fire (again) is nothing short of tragic. Feelings of fear as the fire inches closer to your home, winds change direction, skies filled with smoke, panic, helplessness, and then the aftermath of the heartbreak.

What I keep coming back to through all of this, is how our community shows up for each other. The number of people reaching out asking “how can I help” or “where can I donate” has been incredible. We wanted to pull together an easily accessible list of the resources, donation drives, and ways to support that we’ve seen and heard about so far:

The first two weeks of July ☀️🍦🏖️🫶🏼 Our summer has been eventful so far to say the least, but it has still been filled with lots of family time, friends, love and sunshine. Can’t wait to spend more sunny days and quiet mornings at the farm and soak in the rest of summer. What do you have planned for this weekend?? I want to hear!

It honestly feels surreal to finally be saying this... Five years later and we’re officially breaking ground on our forever home!

When we bought this farm, we imagined it to be a place where our family could spend quality time together, be outdoors, and build a home that we could grow old in.

We jumped into designing right away, and we actually designed the entire house! But eventually, we realized the house we were planning just didn’t feel right. So we hit pause.

Then life happened. Changes in our family lives, businesses, and the property itself took priority. And the house build plans took a back seat. The dream wasn’t over, but what happened next made it feel like our dream was getting further and further away...

The 2023 Kelowna wildfires changed everything. Watching so much of the farm burn was heartbreaking, and for a while, we weren’t sure this dream would ever become a reality. We were so grateful that our little farmhouse survived the fires, because so many people in our community weren’t so lucky...

But over time, as Justin poured countless hours into restoring the property, I felt like our dream maybe wasn’t so far away.

Celebrating one of the happiest days of our lives by getting married right here on the farm under the willow tree felt very full circle.

Starting over gave us a chance to design a home that truly reflects who we are and what our family needs.

I feel like we are creating a place where our family can make memories for years to come, and we can’t wait to bring you along for the ride.

Living in the Okanagan, a lot of wine gets consumed here… from girls’ weekends to family backyard dinners 🍷 So that means there are also a lot of beverage containers needing to be recycled… and this is your PSA for the day! A lot of people don’t realize you can bring your bag-in-a-box containers back to Return-It exactly as they are! No need to separate the plastic from the box. It’s an easy way to get your deposit back and keep it out of the landfill.

A little reminder that life happens in our homes 🤍 With a busy household full of kids and pets... it can be chaos at times. As much as I love a clean house, the messes also remind you of all the life that gets lived in this home! If you ever catch yourself comparing your house to others on here… just remember that Instagram is a highlight reel. 🏡🫶🏼

Happy Fathersday….. here three men who set the bar….

Justin, you are the protector, the steady one, the dad our kids run to. Leo and Annie are so lucky and so am I.

To my dad, you’ve been my North Star my whole life. You taught me that integrity isn’t a sometimes thing. Be kind. Work hard. Do the right thing even when no one’s watching. And somehow you made all of it fun, because nobody laughs harder or finds the bright side faster than you 😭😭😭

To Paul, a true family man and a brilliant businessman who showed Justin what it looks like to build something and take care of your people.

The combination of these three has been such a gift to our family. This is what fatherhood is supposed to look like. ❤️❤️❤️
