Sunnyvale Bay East Trail parkrun - 19

I’m on the road right now and found myself in Silicon Valley. I was here for the weekend so I took the opportunity to get a parkrun in.

This parkrun is an interesting environment because it’s kind of a desert trail course that goes through some wetland area.

There was a bit of a tight squeeze at the very beginning but once I got past the first turnaround point I was pretty clear to run.

The turns themselves were a little scary due to the dusty/rocky nature of the trail. No injuries tho so that’s all good.

My Strava clocked me at 19:39 for a 5K but the course itself is a bit long meaning I finished in just over 20 minutes.

After the run we went for a coffee at Bean Scene in downtown Sunnyvale. Was nice to meet some locals and also find out what to do with the rest of my time in the area.

Another Sunday, another Enoshima Dash ().

This event starts at 6:50 on Enoshima Beach and consists of 20 x 200m sprints followed by a 1 km all out run.

Good turnout this week. Our leaders and camera man were all present.

It’s getting much hotter but it’s still nice to run right now.

I’ll be out of town for a while but I’ll be back in a few weeks.

Tsujido Seaside Park parkrun 248

Another Saturday, another parkrun.

I wanted to get a bit more mileage in this week so I did a 10K warm up before starting the parkrun.

I got a reasonable time but there were so many high level runners at this one that I ended in a much lower position than usual.

Exactly 100 runners at this one! Great progress for Tsujido!

I’ll be out of town for the next parkrun but I will hopefully be running at a different location next time.

Mt Fuji 100 Kai 70K

On April 25th I ran the Mt Fuji 100 Kai 70K in Yamanashi, Japan.

I’ve been building up my mileage again but I may also be carrying a little more fatigue.

The heat is also not helping.

I made a good run of this one but was just planning to run my own pace. Decent time but not sub-20.

Oiso Undo Koen parkrun 256

みどりの日 (Midori no hi) special!

There are some special parkrun events that go on in Japan. Midori no hi (or greenery day) is one of those days.

I drove over to Oiso Undo Koen to take part in their special event.

I was in first place for the first lap and wondered if I’d got the course wrong. I was later overtaken at the hill so I found I was going the right way.

Some brutal hills on this course. I was still a bit sore after three intense training days, but I really enjoyed this parkrun.
