A pond with colorful carp swimming, different shades of greens of various trees, and soft sun lights shinning through the ceiling-to-floor windows.....With a dream-like surroundings at a hidden gem ryotei(upscale traditonal Japanese restaurant) , Japanese wagashi(traditional confection) master, Yoshi Higuchi of Man'nen-do in Ginza performed wagashi making for our VIP guests. It was as if we are daydreaming with such serenity and a ceremony like performance....

What's cooking at Tsukiji Cooking Studio? The answer is Yellowtail Teriyaki! Once it gets cold, Japanese get excited for very fatty juicy Yellowtail. It is great for not only for teriyaki, but also for sashimi and shabu shabu hot pots and so on. With savory, sweet and rich teriyaki sauce(such great aroma!), these young apprentices cleared their teriyaki plates so clean, no remaining sauce spots even!

Play-dough time? No, it's a Wagashi (traditional Japanese confectionary)making lesson! Students from south asian countries tried making mums and silver grass with sweet bean paste in different colors. Some of them were so good and creative and the wagashi master asked some of them to be his apprentices! Good job!

It's summer time and it means very very sweet corn time for Japanese! These two cute looking faces of corn(not ears of corns) caught our eyes during Tsukiji Outer Market tour and shopping for freshest ingredients in Tokyo. We did a table top BBQ(Robata-yaki) in our kitchen, and they got coated with soy sauce and butter(our most popular combo) all over. Sooooo yummy!

HIs son is also a big baseball fan and wearing the Tokyo GIANTS shirt and this stunning looking Ise lobster hat that an owner of sushi restaurant made! What wonderful lives! The granpa and grandson team made such "Oishi!"(delicious) and good looking bento boxes together at Tsukiji Cooking! Onigiri(rice balls with a nori belt), Tokyo style egg omelets, spinach dressed with sesame dressing and crispy Japanese style fried chickens are all packed beautifully in a box! They are living apart now, like the granpa in NYC and the grandson in hong Kong, so they decided to meet up in Tokyo and cook up bento boxes together. How cool is that! We loved the idea so much, and we highly recommend that if you have friends or family members living apart, choose our kitchen as a meet-up venue!
