UTokyo GLP-GEfIL 　東京大学グローバルリーダー育成プログラム

５月１１日（土）、浅野キャンパス武田ホールで８回目となるGEfIL実践研究PHASE2の成果報告会を、約５０名の履修生をはじめとする総勢８０名以上が参加して行いました。
この成果報告会は、履修生にとってはGLP-GEfILプログラムの最終授業にあたります。毎回寄付企業・財団様からもご参加をいただき、ご質問やご意見、ご感想を述べて頂きますが、今年も４社・２財団から８名の方にお越しいただきました。

冒頭、グローバル教育センター　矢口祐人センター長よりご挨拶と激励を頂き報告会がスタート。その後2023年度から2024年度にかけての下記５つのテーマ群、１３のチームがそれぞれ、約８ヶ月間にわたる調査、研究の成果を披露し、またQ&Aセッションでは、教員、寄附企業・財団の皆様から多くの質問や意見が出されました。

昼食時には立食形式で寄附企業・財団の皆様には履修生、教員と交流をして頂きました。
また午後の途中にはオンラインで、GEfIL ALUMNI GROUP　林　ゆり会長より活動の現状と、今後に向けた思いをお話し頂きました。
そして会の最後には、お越し頂いた寄附企業・財団の方々からご講評を頂き、GLP実施委員会　福士謙介委員長より寄附企業・財団の皆様への感謝と、履修生への労いの言葉で報告会は終了となりました。

今年の夏には多くの履修生が寄附企業・財団の皆様からのご支援を頂き、海外プログラムに参加する予定です。履修生の皆さんにはこの後、就職活動や大学院入試等多忙な日々の中にも、GLP-GEfIL海外プログラムを通じて、さらに学びと経験を深めてくれることを期待しています。

The final presentation of GEfIL IRP PHASE 2 was held on Saturday, May 11th at Takeda Hall, Asano Campus, attended by a total of more than 80 people, including more than 50 students.
This final reporting session is the last class of the GLP-GEfIL program for the students. Every year, we invite our sponsoring companies and foundations to this session, then 8 guests from 4 companies and 2 foundations attended this year.

The session began with greetings and encouragement from Professor Yujin YAGUCHI, Director of the Center for Global Education. After that, the following 13 teams under the 5 thematic fields presented the results of their research and study conducted over a period of about 8 months from AY2023 to AY2024, and many questions and opinions were raised by faculty members and sponsoring companies and foundations during the Q&A session.

During the lunch time, the guests from sponsoring companies and foundations had the opportunity to converse with the students and faculty members.
And between the presentations in the afternoon, Yuri Hayashi, the President of GEfIL ALUMNI GROUP, spoke about the current status of the group's activities and the plan for the future online.
At the end of the session, the guests from the sponsoring companies and foundations gave their comments, then Professor Kensuke FUKUSHI, GLP Implementation Committee Chairperson, was extremely grateful to them, and then rewarded all students.

Many GLP-GEfIL students are scheduled to participate in abroad programs this summer with the support by the sponsoring companies and foundations. We hope that the GLP-GEfIL abroad program will help their deeper learning and experience while they are busy with their job-searching activities and graduate school entrance examinations.

3/11 住友商事交換留学生との合同セミナー（第6回目）を開催しました！

2024年3月11日、第6回目の住友商事株式会社交換留学生との合同セミナーを開催しました。
本セミナーはコロナ禍による2020年から22年の3年間の中断を経て昨年再開され、今年は2年連続の開催となります。当日は住友商事の中国からの交換留学生が10名、GEfILからは6名の履修生が参加しました。

本年度は、GLPメンターの 細川尚子　特任講師による “Linguistic Diversity in the Era of Globalisation: Global Linguae Francae and Endangered Languages”　と題した、進行するグローバル化と言語の関係をテーマとしたワークショップを行いました。日本で主に日本語や日本文化、歴史を学んでいる留学生の皆さんには大変興味深いものだったと思います。最初に細川特任講師からテーマについてのレクチャーが行われました。その後、住友商事からの留学生とGEfIL履修生の混合メンバーによる4チームで課題を基に活発な議論や意見交換を行い、最後にチーム毎に代表者が議論の総括を発表しました。
またワークショップの後には、交流会を行い、お互いの親交を深めました。

住友商事の交換留学生は、北は北海道から南は九州までの日本各地の主要大学に1年間留学中の皆さんです。セミナーと交流会で２時間半ほどの短い時間でしたが、中国や中国語に興味があるGEfIL生と日本語、英語、中国語を取り混ぜて活発な意見交換を行い、交流を深めることができた一日でした。

本イベントは、今後とも年１回続けていく予定です。

3/11 6th Inter-exchange event with Chinese students supported with scholarship by SUMITOMO CORPORATION

An Inter-exchange seminar with ten Chinese students, who study in Japan with support of scholarship by SUMITOMO CORPORATION, has been taken place on 11th March, 2024. This is the 6th event which resumed last year after a three-year absence during 2020-22 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this year is the second consecutive year that the seminar has been held. Six GLP-GEfIL students joined the seminar of the day.

Dr.Naoko Hosokawa, GLP mentor and a Project Lecturer, conducted a lecture and workshop tilted "Linguistic Diversity in the Era of Globalisation: Global Linguae Francae and Endangered Languages”. The workshop focused on the relationship between language and the ongoing globalization. We believe it was very interesting for Chinese students who are studying mainly Japanese language, culture, and history in Japan. First, Dr. Hosokawa gave a lecture on the theme. After the theme, the participants were divided into four teams from both parties. The teams engaged in a lively exchange of opinions based on the topics, and finally, a representative of each team summarized their discussion at the end. After the workshop, all students enjoyed at the get-together .

Ten Inter-exchange students from SUMITOMO CORPORATION are currently studying for a year at major universities in various parts of Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu in the south. Although the seminar and the exchange meeting lasted only two and a half hours, the day was a great opportunity to deepen exchanges with GEfIL students who are interested in China and the Chinese language through lively discussions in a mixture of Japanese, English, and Chinese.

We plan to continue this event once a year in the future.

2023年度GEfILグローバルリーダー講義（集中講義）2024.2.29 （木) - 2023.3.3 (日)
GEfIL第8期生向けのグローバルリーダー講義は、3泊4日の合宿型講義として約50名の学生が参加し、山中湖畔にある
東京大学山中寮内藤セミナーハウスで行われました。

今年のテーマは「Fragmentation or Integration? Potential of normative, institutional, business, and technological approaches to overcome（分断か統合か？克服するための規範、制度、ビジネス、技術からのアプローチの可能性）」でした。

基調講演者は、梶川 祐矢 東京大学未来ビジョン研究センター 教授、そしてトレーニングセッションでの講師としてDr.LI ChunyanとDr. Laur KIIK、お二人の東京カレッジ　ポストドクトラル・フェローをお招きし、それぞれご講演を頂きました。

梶川教授からは、
・社会的共有形態が脱構築から再構築へ向かう中で、「グローバル・コモンズ」とみなされる対象は明確ではない。
私財と公共財は流動的であり、気候、海洋、森林、土壌、水、資源、遺伝子配列、生物多様性などを含む
持続可能な社会とより良い未来のためには、自らが未来への取り組みとアカデミアの方向転換に務める必要があり、
且つ科学的な議論に基づくグローバルな発信とガバナンスを確立するためには、専門知識を持ち、洞察力を養う必要が
ある。
・学生の皆さんには問題を特定し、根本原因を皆で話し合い、関連する学説や過去の論文を基にそれらの教訓を統合。
地球システムを人類の共有財産としての「グローバル・コモンズ」と考える視点から解決策のアイデアを出し、議論して欲しい。
との要請がありました。
またDr.LI Chunyanからは　“DESIGN BETTER PUBLIC HEALTH INTERVENTIONS: ENGAGING AND CO-CREATING
WITH COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS”「地域社会のステークホルダーの参加と共創により、より良い公衆衛生介入策をデザインする」
Dr. Laur KIIKからは“Nature, Nationalism, and the Commons Amid War: Kachin, Burma, China”　「カチン族、ミャンマー、
中国に見る内戦下のネイチャー、ナショナリズム、そしてコモンズ」
というそれぞれの研究に基づいた、今年のテーマに沿ったお話を頂きました。

その後学生たちは講師の方々、GLPメンター、そしてティーチングアシスタントからのアドバイスを受けながら、10グループに分かれてそれぞれの興味、関心に基づいた社会課題を設定し、2日間に亘ってその解決策の立案を議論。最終日には各グループ10分のプレゼンテーションを行い、質疑応答、講評を通じて皆それぞれが個々の課題に対して理解を深める事ができました。

学生にとってはこの3泊4日の合宿形式の講義は、昼夜を通じて行われた講演、課題討議とプレゼンテーション準備に加えて、
寝食を共にすることにより、さらにお互いを深く知る事ができた貴重な機会でもありました。

将来グローバルリーダーを目指す学生にとっては、同じ志を持つ仲間との長時間の討議や共同作業を通じて、チームワークに
ついて考え、それを実践する場にもなりました。
準備段階を含めて熱心に取り組んでいた学生の皆さん、大変お疲れ様でした！

2023 GEfIL Global Leader Lecture and Workshop 2024.02.29 (Thu) - 2024.03.3 (Sun)
The Global Leader Lecture and Workshop for GEfIL dai 8 kisei was conducted as an intensive program over four days training camp-style lecture was held at the University of Tokyo Yamanaka-Ryo Naito Seminar House by Lake Yamanaka with about 50 students in attendance.

This year's theme was “Fragmentation or Integration? Potential of normative, institutional, business, and technological approaches to overcome".

The keynote speaker was Professor Yuya Kajikawa of Institute for Future Initiatives（IFI）at the University of Tokyo, and two Tokyo College Postdoctoral Fellows, Dr. LI Chunyan and Dr. Laur KIIK, were invited to speak at the training session.

From Professor Kajikawa,
・As social forms of sharing move from deconstruction to reconstruction, it is not clear what is considered the "global commons". Private and public properties are in flux, and for a sustainable society and better future, including climate, oceans, forests, soil, water, resources, gene sequences, biodiversity, etc., we need to work toward the future and reorient academia, and establish global communication and governance based on scientific discussion. To do so, we need to develop expertise and insight.
・For the students, I would like to identify problems, discuss root causes together, and synthesize those lessons based on relevant theories and past papers, then come up with ideas for solutions and discuss them from the perspective of considering the Earth system as a "global commons" as a common property of humankind.

Dr. LI Chunyan also gave a presentation on
"DESIGN BETTER PUBLIC HEALTH INTERVENTIONS: ENGAGING AND CO-CREATING WITH COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS"
And Dr. Laur KIIK presented on "Nature, Nationalism, and the Commons Amid War: Kachin, Burma, China"
Their speeches were based on their respective researches and in line with the theme of this year's lecture and workshop.

After the lectures, the students were divided into 10 groups to discuss social issues based on their interests and concerns, with advice from the lecturers, GLP mentors, and teaching assistants. And for the next two days, they discussed the solutions to these issues. On the final day, each group gave a 10-minute presentation, which was followed by a question-and-answer session and comments, allowing everyone to deepen their understanding on their issues.

For the students, this 4-day intensive program was a valuable opportunity to get to know each other better through the lectures, discussions, and presentation preparation that took place throughout the day and night, as well as through the sharing of meals and lodging.

For the students who aspire to become global leaders in the future, the long discussions and collaborative work with like-minded peers provided an opportunity to think about teamwork and put it into practice.

国際連合総会第78回会期議長　デニス・フランシス閣下との対話にGEfIL履修生がパネリストとして登壇しました!

2月11日から15日まで訪日された第78回国連総会議長であるデニス・フランシス閣下と研究者、学生との対話が2月14日に本学本郷キャンパスで行われ、GEfIL履修生・修了生がパネリストとして参加しました。

当日、デニス・フランシス閣下はまず “Peace, Prosperity, Progress and Sustainability: What Role Should the United Nations General Assembly Play?” というテーマでご講演を行い、その後　藤原帰一　本学名誉教授（前グローバルリーダーシップ育成プログラム推進室長）、向山 直佑　本学准教授との対話、そして4名のGEfIL履修生・修了生を含む学生パネリストとの対話が行われました。

学生の皆さんにとっては、ふだん報道や文献などを通してしか知る事が出来ない国連の取組みや、現在進行中の国際問題について、その解決にまさにグローバルに取り組まれているデニス・フランシス閣下に直接質問し、お話しを伺える貴重な機会となりました。

2024年1月26日（金）後期課程学部学生を対象とした、選抜制のGLP-GEfILプログラムより、31名の修了生が誕生しました！

GLP-GEfILの修了生はこれで累計334名となりました。冒頭GLP推進室室長の福士　謙介教授からの挨拶の後、修了生には担当理事・副学長の林　香里教授より一人ひとり、東京大学総長名での修了証が手渡されました。引き続き、林理事より式辞を、津田理事からは祝辞をいただきました。

当日は、本プログラムにご支援をいただている６つの企業・団体様より、12名の皆様にご参列いただきました。また、東京大学GLPリーディング・パートナーの住友商事株式会社、常務執行役員　サステナビリティ・DE&I推進担当役員の江田　麻季子様よりご祝辞を頂戴いたしました。

修了生からの答辞は佐川　弘晃さん、飯森　栄治さん、廣瀨　太雅さんが行いました。

修了式の後の懇親会では、2年以上に亘るプログラムを修了した達成感、安堵感から、リラックスした表情で履修生同士、またご出席頂いた企業・団体の方やGLPメンター教職員と談笑する多くの修了生の姿が見られました。修了生の一人は「(GLPが)始まった時は2年間は長いと考えていたが、終わってみるとあっという間だった」と語り、修了生にとって充実した２年間だった事が窺われました。

履修を開始した2021年はまだコロナ禍の影響が色濃く、例年より少ない数の履修生でスタートし、その後もGEfILプログラムの大きな柱の一つである海外プログラムで渡航が一部制限を受けるなど難しい時期も有りましたが、それらを皆で協力し合って乗り越え、無事この日を迎える事ができました。31名の皆さん、修了おめでとうございます！

2023/12/9 第9期履修生認定式＆オリエンテーションを行いました！

この日、81名の新たなGEfIL履修生が誕生しました！
国際担当理事・副学長の林　香里先生よりの祝辞(代読)の後、履修生たちはひとり一人名前を呼ばれて、福士室長からGEfIL welcome packを受け取りました。またGEfIL ALUMNI GROUPの会長　西崎恵理奈さんもオンラインではありますが、歓迎のメッセージを送ってくれました。

認定式の後、午後からは早速、実践研究PHASE1のグループワーク開始、そして第1回海外プログラム説明会と、夜まで盛りだくさんの1日でした。
新履修生のみなさん、これから２年間、GEfILを通じて色々な体験をするとともに、ぜひ自分のネットワークを国内外に広げて下さい！

The 9th GEfIL Entrance Ceremony and Orientation was held on 9th December, 2023!

81 new GEfIL students were born on this day!
After a congratulatory address from Prof.Kaori HAYASHI, Executive Vice President in charge of International Affairs, the students were called one by one by name and received a GEfIL welcome pack from Prof. K. FUKUSHI, Director of GLP Office. Erina Nishizaki, the president of GEfIL ALUMNI GROUP, also attended online and sent a welcome message to new GEfIL students.

After the Entrance ceremony, group work for Independent Research Project PHASE1 began in the afternoon, then the 1st Info Session of Abroad Program 2024 was also held in the evening.
Wishing all new GEfIL students to have various experiences through GEfIL program and expand your own global network for the next two years!

2023年9月27日（水）、伊藤国際ホールにて、GEfIL海外プログラムの成果報告会を行いました。今年は春、夏で合計98名の履修生が海外渡航を経験できました。

当日は70名の現役GEfIL履修生と企業の皆様との交流の場にもなりました。今年は16企業、団体から27名の皆さまのご参加を頂きました。

GLP推進室　福士室長の開会挨拶、林理事のご挨拶に続き、報告会の第一部は、支援企業様によるプレゼンテーションです。以下の5社にプレゼンターを務めていただきました。

報告のプレゼンテーション、質疑応答の後には、津田理事より講評とご挨拶をいただきました。

その後は多目的スペースに場所を移し、全員参加のポスターセッション！プレゼンテーションに登壇しなかった履修生の皆さんが、16枚のポスターで本年度の成果を存分に報告してくれました。
各チームが作成したポスターを前に、履修生が企業、団体の皆様やメンター教員、そして履修生同士で活発に交流する様子が多く見られました。

最後に支援企業様を代表して、GLPリーディング・パートナーである住友商事株式会社　サステナビリティ推進部の藤井　涼太様よりご講評をいただいて、中締めとなりました。

昨年の海外プログラムでは約8割の機会を現地で行うことができましたが、今年は一部例外を除き、ほぼ全員が海外渡航を行うことができ、履修生はGEfILプログラムで学ぶ恩恵を最大限享受できました。

On Wednesday, 27th September, the GEfIL Abroad Program Reporting Session was held at Ito Hall, Hongo Campus. This year, 98 students in total were able to travel abroad in this spring and summer.

On the day of the event, 70 current GEfIL students and representatives from companies and foundations interacted with each other. 27 representatives from 16 companies and foundations participated in it.

The session was started with opening remarks by Prof. Kensuke Fukushi, Director of GLP Office, and the greetings by Prof. Kaori Hayashi, Executive Director and Vice President. The first part of the Reporting Session was presentations by the sponsoring companies. The following five companies acted as presenters.

Each companies presented their own global business operational presence and required human resources in global business.

The second part was the Reporting Sessions from the GEfIL Students. 12 students from the 5 teams took the podium and reported in English on the GEfIL Abroad Programs they experienced this summer.

This was followed by Q&As and comments from Prof. Astushi Tsuda, who are Executive Director and Vice President of UTokyo.

After the reporting session, the poster session with all participants was held in Event Space! The students who did not participate in the presentation on the stage fully reported on the achievements of this year with 16 beautiful posters. GEfIL Students, attendees from companies and foundations, and GLP Mentors interacted altogether in front of the posters.

Lastly, on behalf of the sponsor companies, Mr. Ryota Fujii, Sustainability Department of Sumitomo Corporation gave a comment, which brought the event to a close.

Last year, approx. 80% of GEfIL abroad programs were conducted in overseas countries, and almost all GEfIL students could go abroad this year with some exceptions.
In that sense, current GEfIL students could achieve the most benefits of the program.

東京大学オープンキャンパス２０２3にてオンライン説明会を行います！

6月12日夕方、東京カレッジは、東京大学グローバルリーダー育成プログラム（GLP）推進室と共同で、特別セミナー「Innovation and Entrepreneurship」を開催しました。国際社会における指導的人材を育成するGLP-GEfILの学生を主な対象として行われたこのセミナーには、ジャック・マー客員教授が講師として登壇し、教室には、日本、中国、インド、マレーシアなど、多様でグローバルな世界を代表する学生たちがそろいました。

経営理念や未来の引き寄せ方など若い世代へのメッセージを中心に、マー客員教授の豊かな経験や先駆的・革新的な知見に基づいた講演が行われた後、出席した学生が様々な角度からの鋭い質問を相次いで投げかけ、マー客員教授との間で白熱したやり取りが繰り広げられました。この２時間のセミナーは、参加した学生にとって貴重な学びの場となったに違いありません。

マー客員教授の今後の学生向けセミナー開催予定は現時点では未定です。

On the evening of June 12, Tokyo College and the University of Tokyo's Global Leadership Program (GLP) Office jointly held a special "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" seminar. Professor Jack Ma spoke at this seminar, primarily for the GLP-GEfIL, Global Education for Innovation and Leadership program students. The students were diverse and global in representation, including from Japan, China, India, Malaysia, and other countries.

The seminar focused on management philosophy and how the younger generation can achieve success in the future and was based on Professor Ma’s rich experience and pioneering knowledge of entrepreneurship and innovation. The participating students engaged in a meaningful discussion with Professor Ma. The two-hour seminar was a valuable learning opportunity for the students.

Professor Ma's upcoming student seminars have yet to be determined.

４月に３回行ったGLP-GEfIL第9期履修生募集説明会を、以下の日程で６、7月にも合計７回開催しますので、ご都合のつく日程にご参加ください。(前期課程1・２年生、PEAK1年生対象）

また、第9期履修生応募を既に開始しています。（前期課程2年生、PEAK1年生対象）

GLP office will conduct Information Sessions for 9th recruitment of GLP-GEfIL students, which were held 3 times in April, in June and July on following schedule. Please join when you are available. (target for Year 1 & Year 2 students & Year 1 PEAK students)

And the registration for 9th application was started already. (target for Year 2 students & Year 1 PEAK students)
Only online application is available by Thursday, 31st of August.

５月２７日（土）GO GLOBAL東大留学フェア2023で個別相談会を実施しました!

グローバル教育センター主催で、５月２７日（土）昼から駒場キャンパスで4年ぶりに対面で開催された　GO GLOBAL東大留学フェア2023　の中で、約２０か所設けられたブースの一つとして個別相談会を実施しました。
４年ぶりの対面開催で、開始前にはどのくらいの人数の方がブースに来られるか不安でしたが、始まってみると大勢の１、２年生、および保護者の方にお越しいただき、担当教職員からの説明を熱心に聞き、また多くのご質問をいただきました。

6、７月には同じく駒場キャンパスで　第９期履修生募集説明会　を平日夜に合計７回開催します。
GLP-GEfILに興味はあるけれども、個別相談会では説明を十分に聞けなかった、あるいは相談会に参加できなかったという学部１、２年生とPEAK1年生の方は、事前予約なしで、いつでも参加可能ですので、ぜひ説明会にご参加下さい。

GLP-GEfIL joined GO GLOBAL UTkyo Study Abroad Fair 2023 on Saturday, May 27th！

GLP-GEfIL joined Individual Consultations of GO GLOBAL UTkyo Study Abroad Fair 2023, hosted by The Center for Global Education, The University of Tokyo, as one of the 20 booths held at the Komaba Campus from noon on Saturday, May 27.
It was conducted face to face for the first time in four years.

Before the fair started, we were worried about how many people would come to the booth, but once it started, we had many Year 1, Year 2 students, and Year 1 PEAK students, and some parents came to the booth, eagerly listening to explanations from the faculty and staff of GLP GEfIL and asking many questions.

In June and July, we will hold 7 Briefing Sessions of 9th Recruitment on weekday evenings at the Komaba Campus for Year 1, Year 2 & Year 1 PEAK students.
If you are interested in GLP GEfIL but were not able to listen to the explanation sufficiently at the individual consultations, or if you could not visit our booth in GO GLOBAL UTkyo Study Abroad Fair 2023, you can join the session any time for your own convenience without reservation.
