FITACS consists of five departments: Department of Computer Sciences (CS), Department of Computer Information Systems (CIS), Department of Management Information Systems(MIS), Department of Software Engineering(SE) and Department of Networks and Information Security(NIS). Each department provides specialized programs leading to the bachelor’s degree. The Faculty also offers three graduate prog
rams; one leading to the M.Sc. in Computer Information Systems and the third leads to the M.Sc. in Management Information Systems. As with bachelor’s program in computer sciences, the Master’s program in Computer science was the first of its kind in Jordan when it started in the year 2000/2001. In addition, the faculty offers a joint master’s program with the School of Computing at Sunderland University (UK) in the area of Information Technology Management. It also offers a joint higher diploma program in the area of Information Technology and Telecommunications in Education with the University of InHolland (The Netherlands). This is a vocationally-oriented program and intended to integrate the new technologies with the curriculum and teaching methodologies in the classroom. Starting from the 2005/2006 academic year, the faculty began offering a diploma of education in information and communication technology program in collaboration with the University of Inholand in the Netherlands. Which is directed to the school teachers in Jordan, and is being implemented through the ChangeAgent for Arab Development and Education Reform (CADER) established by the University in collaboration with some universities and some Dutch companies operating in the field of information technology.
