NexT International Film Festival celebrates innovative and creative filmmaking from all around the world. Its mission is to discover and support emerging international film talents by promoting their works locally, nationally and internationally.
The 7th edition of NexT International Film Festival will take place in Bucharest from April 10 to April 14, 2013.
The call for entries for the 2013 edition is now open for the competition and for two special off competition programs: NexT Comedy Night and NexT Kids.

DukaFest student film festival wish to remind you that there is less than a month to apply for our charming little festival! THE DEADLINE IS 30th SEPTEMBER!!! The festival is being held between 15th and 18th November 2012, with films being awarded in two categories as the best documentary and the best fiction film. Furthermore, the best directing will be also be awarded. General rules to apply are:
• Movie, with which the author applies, is shot during the studies, wether the author is still a student or has graduated.
• Movie must not be older than 2011.
• Movie is to be sent on a Bly-ray disc, or uploaded as an HD (mpeg2, h264) video file via internet to our FTP or host of choice – i.e. WeTransfer.com (For our FTP contact [email protected] or [email protected])
• Movie which is not of English speaking teritories must be titled in English language.
• Applicaton is considered complete if the online application is filled out by 30th of September AND if the movie is received by October the 10th.
• Movies received within the deadline will be distributed into competition or revial programmes by selection.
• Movies received after the deadline will be taken into consideration for the next year issue of the Festival, if they still satisfy the age regulation.
• The Festival will give awards for the best fiction, the best documentary movie and the best directing.
• The Festival is not obliged to return received movies.
• The Festival has rights for the screenings and usage of received movies or parts of them for purpose of promotion of the Festival, the authors themselves and their work in printed, internet and broadcasted media.

Call for entries: TVE BioMovies 2012
TVE BioMovies is an environmental film competition - in its third year running - open to anyone around the world with access to a camera, giving the opportunity to show film-making abilities by creating one-minute films on the environment through YouTube. The ten best proposals selected by a panel of judges made up of YouTube celebrities and funders, will be awarded US$300 to turn their ideas into films. The films with the most YouTube views will receive a US$1500 prize and a screening at the next big UN conference in Qatar on climate change.
Proposal Submission:
Log on to www.tve.org/biomovies and choose one of five categories: women and climate change; fresh water; sustainable lifestyles; recycling and sea life. Once your proposal has been accepted, you’ll need to send your film by 23 October 2012.

12. Calls for Entries: Puchon International Student Animation Festival PISAF2012
Puchon International Student Animation Festival (PISAF) is organized by PISAF Organizing Committee, Gyeonggi Province - City of Bucheon and authorized by PISAF Executive Committee and Korean Society of Cartoon & Animation Studies. PISAF2012 will be held from 7 – 11 November 2012 in Bucheon, Korea.
Rules & Regulations:
• The entry should be created by students after November, 2010.
• The official languages of PISAF2012 are Korean and English.
• All films must use scripts, narrations and/or subtitles in either language.
• English language films must attach Post Production Script in English. Non-English language films must be subtitled in English by applicants themselves, at their own expense.
• All applicants must have been enrolled in university, or graduate-level institution at the time of production.

• All applications should be sent to the mailing address below (3 Film images, 1 director’s photo and scripts must be stored in files on CD)

Call for entries: The 2nd Rouyesh International Film Festival
The 2nd edition of the Rouyesh Film Festival will be held in October 2012, in Mashhad - Iran. Animation, fiction & documentary films will be accepted. Any visual effect and animation technic can be used. Aesthetics and style can be chosen freely.
Rules & Regulations:
• All films must be available in English or with English subtitles.
• All films must be Maximum 60 minutes in duration.
• All films entered must have been made between 2009 and 2012.

Call for entries: Producing in the Mediterranean Region
In the framework of the 34th Mediterranean Film Festival of Montpellier and in partnership with EURODOC, CINEMED is holding two days of workshop and a seminar "Producing in the Mediterranean region" with representatives of film funds and televisions, active in the documentary and narrative fields.
This workshop is designed for independent Producers and Directors from the Maghreb and the Middle-East as well as French professionals. They will take part to the co-production round tables, cases studies presentation and seminar.
Eligibility Criteria:
• The Project should be submitted by a Producer and a production company from an Arabic country.
Or
• The Project should be submitted by a French Producer and production company, with a Director from an Arab country (possibility to be resident in France) or with a project with a Mediterranean concern.

Call for applications: Cairo Film Fest’s Co-Production Forum
The Cairo International Film Festival is opening its doors to international filmmakers who have a project with “an Egyptian connection” (director, Producer, co-Producer, main talent, location, or subject matter) - in its second round of the Cairo Film Connection, a Co-Production forum running parallel to the festival. Feature-length projects including creative documentaries, either in the development or Post-Production phase, are encouraged to apply.
Selection Process:
Following the deadline, an international jury will evaluate the submissions and select a maximum of 12 projects, to include approximately eight to ten projects in development and two to four works-in-progress.
The Cairo Film Connection will then invite selected project’s representatives to Cairo for three days for one-to-one meetings with Egyptian Producers, distributors, as well as with international Producers, sales agents, and distributors.
Being selected entitles the project team of two people (Producer-director) to:
1. Full festival accreditation
2. Travel and accommodation for the 3 days of the CFC
3. Schedule of meetings and networking opportunities
4. Project promotion through the festival’s distributed catalogue
5. Eligibility to win grants and financing
The prize money will be paid to the director but it should be noted that the money is intended as a contribution towards the further development of the project and not for individual use.

6. Call for Arab Producers: DOCmed 2013
DOCmed is a three-year training program, designed for Arab professionals in the documentary films domain who have a project that qualifies to be produced as an international coproduction. Each year, 10 professionals from 8 Arab countries (Lebanon, Syria, The Occupied Palestinian Territories, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria) are selected to join three training sessions that will be dedicated to analyze projects with the objective of developing, producing, distributing and showcasing them in the Southern and European countries.
The programme consists of three one-week training sessions over one year:
Session 1: Development - March 2013
Session 2: Budgeting, packaging and financing - June 2013
Session 3: Meeting with the decision makers - October 2013
Selected Producers will participate in international documentary markets.
• Accommodation and travel expenses will be taken in charge by DOCmed.
• Along with the Arab language, at least one foreign language (French or English) is a must.

Call for entries: 11th Docudays Beirut’s International Documentary Festival
The call is now open for the 11th Beirut International Documentary Festival, to be held in Beirut from April 10 to 14, 2013. Short, medium, and feature-length documentaries made after January 2011 are being accepted for consideration.
Competition Sections:
• Pan Arab Competition: restricted to filmmakers from the Arab world.
National Awards:
• Best Feature-Length Documentary (+60 m.)
• Best Medium-Length Documentary (-60 m.)
• Best Short Documentary (-30 m.)
• Jury Special Mention
• International Competition: for international entries and selected Arab documentaries.
Rules & Regulations:
• No film to be submitted without typed complete entry forms.
• Film to be Lebanese premiere and produced after January 2011.
• Screeners to be sent on either a clearly labeled DVD or a downloadable link.
• Note the package with: “No commercial value, for cultural use only”
• In the case of the selection of your film, it must be available in Digi-Beta, DVD, DVCAM (any format) with English subtitles.

There’s only a few days left to enter music videos to the 20th PLUS CAMERIMAGE, the International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography. The deadline is Monday, 3rd September.
The submitted music videos will be watched by a panel of judges who will vote to nominate the videos that will be screened during the Festival (24 Nov – 1 Dec, 2012) for the international audience. The Jury of the Music Videos Competition comprising film and music industry professionals will present two prestigious awards:
• Best Cinematography in a Music Video
• Best Music Video
Music videos produced with the participation of a cinematographer as well as music videos made with the use of various animation techniques will be considered. Only videos from 2012 and 2011 available in QuickTime HD h.264 will be accepted for screening. There is no entry fee.

Call for Submissions: Jordan Film Fund (JFF)
The Jordan Film Fund (JFF) aims at empowering film makers to tell their stories and creating new jobs in the film industry, especially in Jordan. Initiated by the Royal Film Commission to develop the independent film industry, (JFF) was established in 2011 to provide financial and professional support to filmmakers for the development and production of their cinematic projects and to enable them to compete globally.
(JFF) invites filmmakers to apply for financial support in one of the following categories:
• Narrative feature-length film
• Documentary feature-length film
• Short film
The JFF is allocating a total budget of five hundred thousand Jordanian Dinars for the 2012 grants, which will be distributed to projects in various stages of development, production and post-production.
The Jordan Film fund welcomes your applications staring August 1st until the 15th of October 2012. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered. Applicants will receive a confirmation of receipt of their application by email.
