الجامعة الأردنية تطلق مجموعة بحثية دولية متخصصة في "الذكاء الاصطناعي في الطب و طب الأسنان"
في اطار التزامها بدعم التميز البحثي و الابتكار و تعزيز المعرفة العلمية و التطبيقية، و بهدف المساهمة في تحسين جودة الرعاية الصحية، أعلنت الجامعة الأردنية عن إطلاق مجموعة بحثية دولية جديدة بعنوان
"الذكاء الاصطناعي في الطب و طب الأسنان"
AI in Medicine and Dentistry (AIMeD)
تُركز مجموعة على تطوير تطبيقات الذكاء الاصطناعي في المجال الصحي من خلال محاور تشمل التشخيص المبكر، والتحليلات التنبؤية، وتخطيط العلاج، والتصوير الطبي. كما تمتد أنشطة المجموعة إلى تحليل الصور الطبية، والكشف عن الأمراض، وتفسير صور الأشعة السينية للأسنان، وتخطيط العلاج الشخصي. إلى جانب بحث القضايا الأخلاقية والتنظيمية المرتبطة باستخدام الذكاء الاصطناعي في الممارسة السريرية، و تسعى المجموعة إلى تطوير نماذج ذكاء اصطناعي مبتكرة، وتعزيز التطبيقات العملية في الطب وطب الأسنان، و توسيع التعاون متعدد التخصصات مع مؤسسات الرعاية الصحية والشركات الناشئة و الشركاء الأكاديميين.
و تضم المجموعة في عضويتها نخبة من الباحثين من الجامعة الأردنية، هم: الدكتور موسى الأخرس من قسم أنظمة المعلومات الحاسوبية و الدكتورة تمام السرحان من قسم الذكاء الاصطناعي - كلية الملك عبد الله الثاني لتكنولوجيا المعلومات و الدكتور محمد عبد المجيد من قسم هندسة الحاسوب - كلية الهندسة، والأستاذ الدكتور مالك جويعد من قسم الأشعة، و الدكتور قيس البلبيسي من قسم الطب الباطني - كلية الطب، والأستاذ الدكتور يزن حسونة من قسم جراحة الفم والوجه والفكين وطب الفم وأمراض اللثة - كلية طب الأسنان إضافة إلى الطالب جهاد ياسين من كلية الطب، كما تضم المجموعة المهندس عمر عايش، المدير التنفيذي لشركة الحلول الصحية الإلكترونية المشرفة على برنامج حكيم. ويشارك في المجموعة خبراء دوليون بارزون، منهم الأستاذ الدكتور نيكولا سيريلو من المجموعة البحثية لطب وسرطان الفم - كلية طب الأسنان، جامعة ملبورن (استراليا) والأستاذ الدكتور فيليب لوهمان من معهد علم الأعصاب والطب (INM-4)، مركز أبحاث جوليش، ألمانيا.
وتهدف المجموعة إلى تعزيز التعاون البحثي محلياً و دولياً وإشراك طلبة الدراسات العليا و الباحثين الشباب في مشاريع نوعية، إلى جانب تنظيم ورش عمل متخصصة لتطوير المهارات البحثية التطبيقية في الذكاء الاصطناعي للطب وطب الأسنان، كما تسعى إلى إبرام شراكات مع المؤسسات الطبية الحكومية والخاصة، واستقطاب مشاريع بحثية مدعومة من جهات محلية ودولية.
وتعكس هذه المبادرة حرص الجامعة الأردنية على مواكبة أحدث التطورات العالمية، و ترسيخ مكانتها الرائدة في مجالي البحث العلمي والابتكار، محلياً وإقليمياُ و دولياً، وتهيئة بيئة محفزة لابتكار حلول مبتكرة للتحديات الصحية الراهنة والمستقبلية.
The University of Jordan Launches an International Research Group Specializing in "AI in Medicine and Dentistry (AIMeD)"
As part of its commitment to supporting research excellence and innovation, enhancing scientific and applied knowledge, and contributing to improving the quality of healthcare, the University of Jordan announced the launch of a new international research group titled:
AI in Medicine and Dentistry (AIMeD).
The group focuses on developing AI solutions and applications in healthcare across areas including early diagnosis, predictive analytics, treatment planning, and medical imaging. The group's activities also extend to medical image analysis, disease detection, dental x-ray interpretation, and personalized treatment planning. In addition to exploring ethical and regulatory issues related to the use of AI in clinical practice, the group seeks to develop innovative AI models, promote practical applications in medicine and dentistry, and expand interdisciplinary collaborations with healthcare institutions, startups, and academic partners.
The group includes an elite group of researchers from the University of Jordan, including: Dr. Mousa Al-Akhras from the Department of Computer Information Systems; Dr. Tamam AlSarhan from the Department of Artificial Intelligence - King Abdullah II School of Information Technology; Mohammad Abdel-Majeed from the Department of Computer Engineering - the Faculty of Engineering; Professor Malik Juweid from the Department of Radiology; Dr. Qais AlBalbissi from the Department of Internal Medicine - School of Medicine; Professor Yazan Hassona from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Medicine and Periodontics - School of Dentistry; and student Jehad Yassin - the School of Medicine. The group also includes Engineer Omar Ayesh, CEO of the eHealth Solutions Company, which oversees the "Hakeem" program. Prominent international experts also participate in the group, including Professor. Nicola Cirillo from the Oral Medicine & Oral Cancer Research Group at the Dental School, University of Melbourne (Australia); and Professor. Philipp Lohmann from the Institute of Neuroscience and Medicine (INM-4), Jülich Research Center, Germany.
The group aims to enhance local and international research cooperation and engage graduate students and young researchers in quality projects. It also organizes specialized workshops to develop applied research skills in artificial intelligence for medicine and dentistry. It also seeks to establish partnerships with public and private medical institutions and attract research projects supported by local and international entities.
This initiative reflects the University of Jordan's commitment to keeping pace with the latest global developments, consolidating its leading position in scientific research and innovation locally, regionally, and internationally, and creating a stimulating environment for the development of innovative solutions to current and future health challenges.
