For some reason the first time I learned the difference between sympathy and empathy it really stuck with me, what’s funny is I was explaining the difference to my students the other day and one student had the exact same thoughts I did on them before! I just knew both words but thought they meant the same thing. Beautiful difference in the meaning of the two. ✍🏼

Last five errors! I will keep nagging and stressing over this, sometimes things like proofreading your work seem like a pain but it makes all the difference for the reader! Trust me, it’s worth it when a reader is given a smooth read, they’ll like your text so much more! ✔️🥰

Funnily enough I used to have such a problem with run-on sentences. In Arabic you find this a lot and so for a lot of us native Arabic speakers this is a very common practice! Again never underestimate what rereading and proofreading your documents can do, it can work magic! ✍🏼❤️

The next five! What’s interesting is that with proofreading your work you can actually avoid most of these, so a lot of times the cause for these errors is just being in a rush to finish your work, but it’s actually worth making your writing flawless to take the time and proofread everything! It makes all the difference for the reader to have a lovely smooth reading of your work ☺️✍🏼

Studies show that these writing errors (along with 15 others which I will be posting over the coming days) are very common and could in fact really attract your readers’ negative attention. Can you think of more? Look out for the other errors over the next days! ✍🏼🥰

How to refer to things? I love those words, they make it so much easier for you to refer to things and they can sometimes just slip your mind and you’re left there wondering, do you call it a box or a carton? Or whatever curiosity you might have 😂✍🏼

I love the word behemoth! It sounds like its meaning haha for some reason I feel like it takes effort to actually say it, the word feels like a behemoth in your mouth. Thus being very expressive. V nice word.

Well this was pretty shocking to me! I only ever knew of the stuff Tolkien created for Middle Earth, Hutesse from Star Wars and Dothraki from Game of Thrones... interestiing and pretty fascinating actually. ✍🏼

Half of which are expected to be gone within the next 100 years. Language is very interesting, it’s like a living thing. If it is maintained and nurtured it survives, if not then tough luck. 🤷🏻♀️

Repost: Say hello to the NATO phonetic alphabet! I’ve always been jealous of people who knew these by heart but thankfully after editing this post so much I think I’ve finally got it😂 so these words were chosen because they are very distinct and it is pretty difficult to confuse them with other words. This made it easy for people to communicate over radio and you should use them too! Of course we would probably have an issue with those as well because I can totally imagine someone going over the phone with someone else and trying to spell a word like ‘people’ say it’s ‘p from papa’ and the other person saying ‘b from babaa?’ 😂😂 Aahh I’m so funny. But anyways, learn these, you’ll feel cool ☺️
