''We all have little things we do to attract love. These characteristics begin when we are young. We learn to be charming, or exaggeratedly masculine or feminine, or tough, or clever, or perhaps even mysterious. But I believe we are usually loved in spite of these things we do for love, not because of them. Usually people are not really attracted by our dance for love, but merely tolerate that part of us as a weakness. Our most beautiful and graceful power lies hidden behind these dances. The more we learn to take off our armor and choose to be authentic, the more our inner light shines and we transform from masked strangers into lighthouses.''

"Go and love someone exactly how they are. And then watch how quickly they transform into the greatest, truest version of themselves. When one feels seen and appreciated in their own essence, one is instantly empowered."

Love… what a tricky word... it is used and understood in so many different ways, and it can easily create tension in relationship (“Do you love me?”, “You don’t really love me/you don’t care about me… you care only about yourself…).
To experience that ‘I love’, or ‘I care’ or ‘I appreciate' another person is maybe the most pleasurable experience I know. 'To be loved' is giving me a certain sense of security, but 'to love', is the deepest pleasure I know. I love to love.
When I am angry, irritated or distanced- this pleasure is taken away from me.
NVC is the most powerful tool I found so far that is showing me the way how to create and re-create love toward the people around me.

Do you sometimes find yourself regretting the way how you communicated or behaved with a person you love? With your child, with your partner, your mother, brother and friend. It is almost daily that I 'f**k it up' with the people I love most. I am very far from being perfect… To 'f**k it up' is normal, we all do it and probably will continue doing so.
I am not trying to be ‘perfect’. What excites me is - instead of ‘ eing perfect’, I want to have the skills how to transform each ‘f**k up’ into a deeper connection and deeper trust with the people I love. NVC is the most powerful tool I found so far that is giving me such concrete skills and tools how to transform a 'f**k up’ into a deeper connection.
