He Can Take The Taste Away

A former substance abuser shared his testimony of how he could no longer get "High" or reach a state of euphoria while taking his favourite drug after having an encounter with God. Even when he increased the dosage he still felt normal and was perplexed because it came from a previous batch that was effective.

This happened a week after visiting church and repeating a simple pledge to God uttered by the preacher saying "Take away anything from me that will hinder your Holy Spirit from moving freely in my life". No explosions, drama, or feelings from deep within was felt, just a simple harmless prayer he thought which would bear fruit further down the line or years to come when he is ready to surrender.

There can come a time when you become unmotivated to feed your addictions or they no longer have the potency to get you high. It's not a strange cataclysmic event where stars align and the universe determines that you have transcended but rather Jesus has made himself present for you to experience the "Real Ting" over reliance on foreign entities. He has given you an option to partake of something greater that will not leave you in a perpetual state of stupor but rather free and enlightened to be occupied by His Holy Spirit.

He can take the taste away instantly or overtime and if you have a genuine desire to change ask God for help and watch Him break chains from off your lives. "Mek Him Tek It Weh"

Dig It Out And Chop It Off !!!

All body parts are essential for our operations and if they weren't God wouldn't have created us with them. Think about hands in general, used to move, lift, gesticulate, assist, you name it, (hands are hands) and without sight you wouldn't be able to move around freely.

Imagine losing both of them in an accident, to disease or crime and how it would significantly alter your life? Being severely inconvenienced, you would have to learn new ways of navigating daily life.

Now how about voluntarily gouging out your eye or chopping of your hand? Yu Mad!! Not even mentally deranged people would do such a thing (well at least most of them). Some are trying to find all manner of solutions to deal with a specific sin and some have identified the root cause but find it very difficult to not just disassociate themselves from it but to render it completely useless.

Scripture shows how important our destination to Heaven should be over our reliance on things that seem essential or distracts us. Matt 5:29 - "...........throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell."

Passionate thirsts, bouts of lust (whether for a person or object), indulgence in illicit activities, attending questionable places and even befriending certain people can evolve from a habit to a lifestyle that God hates causing eternal damnation.

It's painful and foolish in the eyes of many to sacrifice euphoria, comfort and acceptance but as children of God we have no other choice but to let them go if we really want to see the face of Jesus..

Dig it out and Chop It off!!

Lessons Learnt From Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt has been breaking records since his early teenage years and from that point on he was expected to be a challenger in the world of Track and Field, giving the country of Jamaica hopes of future international contention against the greats. He was signed as a brand ambassador, relished in the attention but then he received an injury and people forgot about him. "Bolt Nah Go No Weh!! Him Dun" I remember hearing that from someone with "knowledge" of the sport. Fast Forward a couple years later and he starts breaking records and suddenly everyone is on his bandwagon with eyes opened to see what he could do.. and He has done it. Broken records, Set standards and even unified the sport that was so stringent and rigid. Here are some of the things I learned from his ascension.

Bolt remains himself and never let anyone change his personality. Most athletes use to have a serious, intense look right before the race but Bolt was always jovial, smiling to the camera, waving to the crowd and having fun even when ridiculed by others. (Don't change your personality to suit an industry, you're not a robot, be yourself)

Bolt produces results. Despite his jolliness and mischievousness he made sure to deliver on the track so that he was not a gimmick or a contender but rather an Overcomer. There are many videos of him training hard on the track and in the gym, even showing him throwing up from all the hard work. So work hard behind the scenes but have fun in public.

Bolt walks in his purpose. Oftentimes people shun what has been endowed upon them and even exhibit a fake sense of humility. He knew what he had and how it impacted him so he claimed it 100% the good and the bad. Endorsements and all

Bolt has good management. There is no way you can be a superstar/ phenom by just doing things on your own. People will take advantage of you, they will set you up, you can become complacent, burnt out and confused but if you have a team of people that handle your affairs and look out for your best interest that's a blessing.

Bolt takes instructions from his coach. It's known that his coach is a no nonsense person and pushes Usain to the limit that's the reason he could produce those results. He could have gotten someone else to take their time with him but we have to listen to the people who are our overseers and know best, never letting our egos supersede good instructions.

Bolt keeps It local. The reason why Bolt is so loved by his fellow countrymen is not just because he broke records, but he stipulated that commercials, training and other business activities be done locally to highlight his country. "Sometimes We Get Big and Wah Forina Tek Ova Di Ting" but there is nothing wrong with building rather than jumping on established ships.

There are lot more lessons we can take from his performance but The best reward he can ever earn is giving his life to the Lord and receiving crowns from heaven for his work for the Kingdom.

When A Nation Stands Behind You ( Olympic Message )

Like my fellow country men I become glued to the TV set whenever I see representatives from my nation vie to become champions in the Olympic races. Anticipation and excitement are understatements to describe the energy that permeates throughout the land with flags flying high, pot covers clanging and Vuvuzela's echoing when the athletes run down the stretch (Place Pon Lock Down!!).

The support for the athletes are not limited to just a segment of the society but comes from nations beyond their homeland. It's an amazing thing when people throw their support behind you especially when it's for good.

I'm reminded of the Biblical Kings who did right in the sight of the Lord and had a multitude of people speaking great things about them and the God they served. However when they did wrong the people also followed.

It's now up to those with the level of respect to use their influence to create change .

Your actions will be monitored keenly
Your words must be spoken wisely ( Be bold enough to speak the truth)

Guard yourselves against opportunists.

Ask God for direction, humility, strength, protection and further promotion.

Popularity, Support and Influence don't exist in a vacuum, you received them to serve something greater than your self-interest and most importantly point people in the direction of God..

Congrats to All the Athletes Out There..

Bless Up

My Hardened Heart Will Not Sink My Destiny !!!

Have you ever wondered that when God looks down from Heaven He shakes His head saying "Why don't they get it? "

He has so much instore for us but we are caught up in living the lives we want to and praying for His endorsements rather than being yielded vessels. Oceans of emotions, logical reasoning and boasting about our earthly accomplishments are not justifications for carrying a hardened heart towards his divine will for our lives. Why's mankind so stubborn?

There are times we question God, challenging Him because we think He doesn't know what's best for us.
He's messing up the good thing that you have going on. "God, jus' easy no star, mek sumbadi else do that, my ting set!!!" Why are you settling for lower end trinkets when God has huge trophies overlaid with gold and jewels for you?

Some persons have resisted so badly that they develop an unrepentant heart, writing themselves out of their destiny. This is your opportunity, are you ready to listen and be obedient now?

If so, He'll give second chances and re-opens doors that we initially failed to go through.

If not, remember that we have a Judgement Day and why would you want to chance limiting your Heavenly rewards over temporal fixations? What's gonna happen when He shows you all that you could have accomplished with the right connections, spouse, skill, education, job, geographic location, church etc?

Tears, Sadness, Regrets, ..... Nuff Tings!!!!

Just pray "Holy Spirit I affirm your role in my life as a comforter and guide. I relinquish my ways to you with humility. Lead me how you want to and I will follow.

Blessings

When Go Really Loves You..

Did you know that God will ensure that nothing stops your progress especially when He has anointed you and you're gratitude comes with humility?

Isaiah 45 :2 - 3

2 I will go before you
and will level the mountains[a];
I will break down gates of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.

3 I will give you hidden treasures,
riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the Lord,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.

His goodness knows no limits, God "Good Up!! Good Up!! He has already stated it in His word, What are you waiting for? Claim it, and live for Him.

Are You Powerful Or Just Popular ?

Have you ever noticed that the movers and shakers of this world are hardly seen or heard in the public arena? Some are quite comfortable with this because it allows them to fulfill their agendas without harassment and major opposition.

The majority of powerful people are not public profilers, their names may be prominent but we hardly know what the look like and they don't draw attention to themselves unless direly needed. On the contrary there is a deluded teaching that we should gravitate towards the ones who are popular (the celebrities) who look good on paper, have loud voices, many accomplishments are ostentatious etc because they 'seem' powerful.

Also many people in church believe that the baptism of popularity with the evidence of titles and positions will result in power somewhere down the line however they are the first to run in a case of demonic possession. Purchasing an expensive vehicle that cannot drive makes no sense unless you plan to use it as a showcase piece but Christians were bought with a price paid for by Jesus not to be fine looking ornaments (alone) but to have power through the Holy Spirit.

Are you just a shell without fuel? Can you make an impact in your current state? Are You Powerful?

There are some powerful Christians out there that don't have a TV ministry, lots of likes on social media but have a significant level of influence in both the natural and supernatural realm. They have authority, respect and the endorsement of Heaven. "Dem no hype" because they are clocked in humility but are fluid into environments if called for.

Man will elevate you if you are popular but God won't endorse you for greater works if you are deficient in His power.

Rise Up From Your Wheelchair !!

When God places difficult situations before you it's not so you can freak out even if you are embarrassed but it's for the purpose of showing himself as the ultimate problem solver. Imagine a wheelchair bound person going up the altar asking for prayer so they can walk again during the service? Soothing words from a leader, charismatic screaming or energetic athletics won't solve the problem. What is needed is the Power of God to arise with faith, trusting that He will do the Job. Some would be content if nothing happened while others may consider your attempts at praying for that person a failure, however your success lies in practicing the Principles of God, being obedient, and deeply embedding a constant assurance that God is working at all times (Faith Inna Yu Hart). The person could walk instantly, or in 30 mins, or even 30 days later. Regardless of the timing a miracle is a miracle. "No So?"

Think about the wheelchair bound situations in your life or a friend's? No matter how one tries to hide it God still points the light in that direction for all to see.

Sure it's unfair and uncomfortable, people will mock you, or even doubt that you can ever be successful and "walk" again but it's not about what people think or say, its about God using you as a vessel to spread His fame across the earth.

Did you know that before the prayer was sent up God was working on your behalf but you fed on the negative comments and allowed doubt to counteract the work even when you saw toes twitching?

I declare that positive thoughts of hope will flood your mind and give you optimism.

I declare that your feet will hit the ground as you walk and run again.

I pray that your faith is strengthened as you go through the difficult seasons of testing.

I declare that you will come out victorious spreading the good news that God still delivers and heals.

Your blessings will be multiplied for all the hardships you went through.

Just believe God today with all your heart

With God You Don't Need To Pay Dues

Unemployment motivated a Computer Engineer to apply for a position outside his field as a Logistics Officer at a Wharf and was awarded the job. He soon realized that there were strict protocols and procedures far more than he was use to.

After working in the field for more than a year he noticed several inefficiencies coupled with overspending and long turn around times for simple procedures. He drafted a document outlining recommendations for the issues and emailed it to his supervisors and management but received no positive answers. To his surprise one supervisor even responded by saying that he hadn't paid enough dues yet so he should keep quiet.

His persistence landed him a meeting with the C.E.O. who liked his ideas and appreciated his interest in seeing the company perform better. Feeling threatened and not wanting to look incompetent, the supervisors conspired to silence his voice. They told lies about him to his co-workers, fed him misinformation about new guidelines, changed figures on submitted reports, gave him extra duties to frustrate him until he was eventually let go.

God told Him to start a small business right across the street. He then repackaged his ideas and approached several companies who awarded him with contracts. He was surprised at the quick turnaround time but was truly appreciative of this miracle for all the turmoil he went through.

When God is in the vessel and has blessed you with favour then there's no need to "pay dues" regardless of what the "establishment" thinks. Sometimes He has to extract you from a community to allow them to see you shine from a distance.

Just remember that no one has the right to stop you from achieving Godly success.

That Nice Teacher Lady!!

Miss was the Religious Education Teacher and a Christian who had a pleasant appearance. She spoke clearly, slowly and eloquently while encouraging persons who she saw potential in to strive for more. "She nice eeeehh!" and students loved being around her to draw strength and inspiration. The only time you would see her disposition change was when there was interaction with students who she thought were not interested in learning.

Something strange happened one day while invigilating an exam. She walked through the isles glancing at the students papers and sharing empowerment tips. Some quickly finished and left the room but there was a reasonable number left who were taking their time. While looking at the paper of a young man sitting in the front of the class she suddenly snapped and unleashed a barrage of hateful and derogatory words towards him leaving the students in a state of shock. The young man had a learning disability and would always slow down the progress of her classes because she couldn't leave him behind but deep in her heart she loathed and pitifully despised him.

In an act of solidarity, the majority of those who were left came out of the exam room sending a message that the teacher had no right to insult the young man in that way, the only person left writing the exam was someone who never cared about what was going on and who just wanted to get their marks.

The Bible mentions that ... For whatever is in your heart determines what you say. (Mat 12:34)

Behind perfect appearances lies flaws, and the more polished you are to the public is the more broken you can be behind closed doors. (Don't be moved by what you see)

A call for unity will expose those who have selfish motives.

Not everyone may be on your level but they have value and worth as anyone else.

What's lurking in your heart right now?
