Institute of Vocational & Professional Training- IVPT Conceptualized out of a need to provide training in vital vocational areas for residents of Spring Village and It's environs.

IVPT (formerly Spring Village Training Institution) is a community based institution, which is dedicated to the empowerment of individuals, through Vocational training. The institution was started in 1998 by the physical efforts of community members who helped to build the center now used for classes, in partnership with local organizations such as Jamaica Broilers and with continued support from

Heart Trust NTA, Mission groups from Minnesota, USA , USAID and other stakeholders. Today, the institution offers a variety of courses such as Electrical Maintenance (Levels 1 & 2, Bakery Chef (Levels 1& 2), Housekeeping (Levels 1&2), Welding (Levels 1&2) and Customer Services (Level 1). All the course are conducted through the HEART Trust NTA and accredited by National Council on Technical and Vocational Training ( NCTVet). We believe in " training for transformation" and continue to provide training that equips individuals for work both locally and internationally.
