Background Information:
To facilitate students with the necessary knowledge, skills, exposure, experience and support needed to achieve both a personal and professional advantage in the various fields encompassed in the world of Cosmetology, is the main and primary goal of the Milady’s School of Cosmetology. The Milady’s School of Cosmetology is a direct product of the desire held by founder, Mine
l Youton, to provide the necessary skills in Cosmetology needed to achieve success personally and professionally. Having been educated at the Dornids School of Beauty Culture in Kingston, Jamaica and also achieving an Associate Degree in cosmetology, from one of the most prestigious cosmetology Universities in the United States of America, the Dudleys University, North Carolina; the apparent need for such an institution to be available for young citizens in St. Thus, the Milady’s School of cosmetology was established in the year 1995, humbly with five (5) total enrolled students. Over the course of the next twenty (20) years, our enrollment rate has successfully increased steadily with over one thousand (1000) graduates to date. The school has always been open to individuals from varying socio-economical backgrounds, allowing them the opportunity to make a living and to become positive contributors to the society at large. The school aforementioned originally started out with focus being placed on the styling, care and maintenance of hair and nails. Over the years, however, other fields of cosmetology have become a staple part of the curriculum offered, including very specific sub-categories of spa- treatments, massage therapy, skin care, and salon management etc. This wide variety allows students to gain specific knowledge on the area of their choosing allowing them to excel in that particular field. Furthermore the school allows students to become very well rounded in all the facets of cosmetology by not limiting the courses they can enroll in. The school allows students to leave with accredited certification from the N.C.T VET. The founder and head lecturer has also worked with the N.C.T VET, lecturing at two different HEART Trust Institutions teaching level 1 and level 2 students. And also through working as an invigilator for various exams for HEART trust.
