Had an egg-cellent Easter 2022
🐣 Did a little bit of everything: crafting, eating, touring, researching, sleeping, family, discovering, working, volunteering, reminiscing, succulent gardening, beaching.

So thankful for volunteers today!
To every single volunteer who has attended a Mobay ICC Beach Clean-up over the past dozen years 👏🏽👏🏽👍🏼👍🏼
When Covid thwarted 2020 ICC beach clean up plans I crumbled and cried for my hundreds of youth volunteers. When 2021 ICC came around and it was the same story again, I decided to think differently and I'm so glad I did.
Instead of a 1,000+ strong army of beach cleaners, I joined forces with 10 others and had the most fulfilling underwater clean-up and have now formed beautiful friendships with a few more fantastic eco enthusiasts.
It's wonderful to be a volunteer❣

Tea & tales throughout the pandemic.
What started nearly a year ago as a way of connecting my Mum with her friends virtually, during lockdowns & quarantines and a long cold winter, turned into something so special!
A beautiful, weekly, 30 min gathering with a cuppa tea & a topic, saw friends and family zoom in from all over: 🇬🇧🇯🇲🇨🇦🇺🇸🇳🇬🇳🇿!!
We heard generational stories of 1960's London, 1980's Discovery Bay, history, day-to-day happenings, weddings... you name it, there was a tale about it.
Through sickness & health, laughter & tears,
we all looked forward to our weekly get-together.
With the new-normal now in effect we have adjusted to a few different formats, but Tea & Tales 2020-21 will always be in my heart ❣

As I reflect upon
I am so grateful for the green ♻️ friends 💚 I've made on my journey of beach clean-ups, plastic recycling, mangrove & tree planting and mermaiding around my hometown of Montego Bay.

Sun 15 Aug 2021was a historical day for my family - the first wedding of the Parchment next-generation.
My eldest nephew Mikey got married to the most adorable 💞 Chloe.
Vicki was the happiest I've ever seen her and rocked as the Mother-of-the-groom.
Mum, Cathy, her fam, niece Dani and childhood friend Lisa all repped the Parchi's on-site, then internationally: me, Vannah, Terry, Tak, Holly, Katie & Toto joined in through video call.
I dressed up, decorated my space, wore my brand 🇯🇲 and proceeded to bawl through the entire event😭🤧 it was so touching.
Chloe & Mikey are the most beautiful couple I've ever seen get married 💘 Chloe's twin sister added to the magic of the day and when Chloe changed and twirled in with Mikey 💓 it was like a fairytale !!
After signing off, I lit a lantern and sent it off my roof filled with love for the new couple making their way in the new-normal.
I've been on a high all week just thinking of them, chatting with them, my duo, my sisters, Mum & reminding the old Bertie about that 23 year ago feeling ❣
