Why Stand Gazing?
Scripture: “Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.” — Acts 1:11 (KJV)
The disciples had just witnessed something extraordinary: Jesus, their risen Lord, lifted into the clouds and received into heaven. In that holy moment, their eyes were fixed upward, their hearts surely filled with awe, wonder, and perhaps a touch of sorrow. It was then that two angels appeared and asked, “Why stand ye gazing…?”
This question was not a rebuke but a gentle reminder. The angels assured the disciples that Jesus would return in the same way they saw Him go. His ascension was not the end of His presence or His promises—it was the beginning of a new chapter. The Holy Spirit would soon empower them, and their mission on earth was just beginning.
For us today, this verse holds a comforting balance. On one hand, we hold to the hope of Christ’s return. The world is not spiraling aimlessly; history is moving toward the day when Jesus will come again to make all things new. On the other hand, we are not called to stand still, simply waiting and gazing. We are called to live, to serve, to witness, and to trust that Christ is with us through His Spirit until that glorious day.
So when life feels uncertain, we lift our eyes in hope—knowing Jesus will return. But we also lower our eyes to the world around us—seeing the opportunities to love, serve, and shine His light here and now.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for the promise of Your return. Help me not to stand idly gazing, but to live faithfully each day, empowered by Your Spirit. Give me hope for tomorrow and purpose for today, until I see You face to face. Amen.

Morning Dew: Hope for Tomorrow
Finishing the Race of Life
In life's vast and winding course,
We run with hope, we find our force.
Each step a challenge, each breath a fight,
We chase our dreams, we seek the light.
The road is long, with hills to climb,
But reaching the finish, oh, how sublime!
For every stumble teaches us grace,
In this grand journey, it's worth the race.
So run with heart, let passion steer,
Finish the race, hold your goals near.
With courage and love, we'll find our way,
To the promise of dawn and a brighter day.

Ask, Seek, Knock
Scripture:
“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” — Matthew 7:7 (KJV)
Reflection:
Jesus reminds us that God welcomes our prayers and pursuit of Him. To “ask” is to bring our needs and desires before Him, trusting that He hears us. To “seek” is to actively look for His presence and guidance in our lives. To “knock” is to persevere in faith, believing that God will open doors in His perfect timing.
Sometimes, we hesitate to pray—unsure if our requests matter to God. But Jesus assures us that our Heavenly Father listens with love. His answers may not always be what we expect, but they will always be what we need.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to ask with faith, seek with persistence, and knock with trust in Your timing. Open the doors that lead me closer to You. Amen.

When shadows fall, and hope seems gone,
Keep pushing on until the dawn.
Though paths are hard, and strength feels slight,
Never give up, hold on tight.
A brighter day is yet to be,
So keep your dreams alive and free.
With every step, you'll rise above,
Never give up, embrace the love.
