The rich goodness of Little Orchard Honey
Little Orchard Farm JA is gearing up to be a holistic experience where families, friends, couples and singles can come and soothe their soul.
Our amazing journey began in October 2013, with only two men and a few machetes. Currently 75 acres of fertile land with about 35 acres cultivated with coconuts, sweet potatoes, plantains, pineapples, bananas, citrus, peppers and just about every crop sustainable in this region. We've also had the blessing of adding a small fish pond, ducks, bees, rabbits, chickens, goats and also two pet donkeys.

Getting the Pak Choi field ready! Soon plant up time!
"Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen"
- John Steinbeck
Over the few years, our native bananas like “Robusta, Lacatan and Gros Mitchel” have all been affected by the Black Sigatoka disease. The Fhia Banana is a synthetic hybrid dessert banana that was scientifically modified to be resistant to the Black Sigatoka disease which has plagued our farming basin for some time. However it is susceptible to Sigatoka leaf spot (yellow Sigatoka) and nematodes. The Fhia banana was released in 1988. It was developed from a Dwarf Pome and another synthetic hybrid. The plants are cold and wind tolerant and produce higher quality fruits in sub-tropical, than tropical conditions. It has been widely distributed for subsistence and commercial cultivation.
They are cooked within five minutes, when boiled, they remain soft after being cooled and, as such, are marketed in their unripened state. Fhia banana can weigh up to 30kg per bunch.
