The Legacy of a Goldsmith...

On May 21, 1729 John Wolmer wrote his will and declared that a ‘free school’ be established in the parish where he happened to die. The sum of £2,360 was left for this purpose and he died soon after in Kingston on June 29, 1729.

We had to take the weekend to process the awesomeness of our resilient scholars and their excellent performance in the PEP 2022 examinations!

Our PEP 2022 facts:
🎉100% achieved Proficient (P) in 1 or more subject areas
🎉95% received a placement score above 300
🎉75% achieved Highly Proficient (HP) in 1 or more subject areas
🎉71% scored above 80% in the Ability Test

Our scholars have run this race, they have finished this course and their greatness has been unleashed for the next level.

WPS Walkathon - 5 Days To Go!!

Douglas Orane went to Wolmer's Prep School, and he shared with me that his success in life is due to the solid foundation established at WPS. He was so excited to hear of my fundraising walk, and as support for the children at WPS, he has agreed to match everyone else’s donation dollar for dollar, up to a total of one million Jamaican dollars, provided the funds are received by Wolmer’s Trust by Thursday 12 August.

Fun Fact: WPS was established by Ms. Evelyn Skempton, former WGS Principal , in September 1941. The prep school started where the WGS canteen is now located. As demand increased in the early 1950s , WPS moved to nearby Connolley Avenue. Current enrollment is now over 300 students.
