Good morning my St Mary High and St Mary family. Dr Eldridge Powell (past SMHS student and former teacher) has lost his mom who was a former Principal of Islington Secondary School. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.

Greetings fellow Alums.
The 2024 Penn Relays are upon us once more and it is another opportunity for our students to showcase their talents. Last year, the team did well and this year there is an anticipation of improved performances due to the team's placing at the Boys' and Girls' Championships (10th place for the girls; 13th place for the boys).
The school had put aside and has raised funds for the team; however, they had not anticipated the number of students who would have qualified this year. Our present team consists of 21 members and the funds were only enough to to take care of the acquisition of visas and the purchasing of tickets - there is now the matter of accommodation and other miscellany. To that end, each member of the team needs coverage of approximately US$120 per day for the five days of competition. They are due to depart on Monday and though it is short notice (due to no fault of the school - had to await orders from various entities), assistance is being sought. Thank you Rosemarie Boothe and Jean Martin-Raynor for leading out. It was a wonderful day! You should have seen Major Merna Riley and her sister,Lafern Riley perspiring whilst doing a good job of making our environment more friendly. Good job ladies!
