As the start date for year 2 draws nigh, I pause to reflect on why I’m proud of my performance in my first year at UMass Amherst’s PhD in English program:
🎯 I received an A in all four classes I took: Rhetorical Theory; Writing Across the Curriculum; Researching New Literacies; Genre, Transfer & Social Action
🎯I enjoyed the class that I audited: Advanced English Methods
🎯 I taught College Writing to non-Jamaicans for the first time and received positive feedback
🎯 I served as a member of the Publications Committee in the Writing Program
🎯 I joined Composition Studies as an editorial assistant
🎯 I became a member of the praise team at Deliverance Center Ministries cogic
