Our Year 7 students visited Mont Orgueil Castle this week as part of their study of castle development. The visit provided an invaluable opportunity to explore the castle’s architecture and defensive features firsthand, deepening the students’ understanding of how fortifications have evolved throughout history. The experience brought classroom learning to life and further enriched their appreciation of Jersey’s unique heritage.

Our Chamber Choir gave a wonderful concert of choral pieces and solos at St Saviour's Church on Sunday afternoon. The pupils performed beautifully and were excellent ambassadors for the school, showcasing both their musical talent and confidence.
A huge thank you to the staff who supported the event and to the parent who captured some beautiful photographs of the performance.
With their upcoming trip to Paris just around the corner, the choir has much to look forward to!

What a fantastic day we had at our Senior Sports Day on Friday. The weather didn't get us down, and pupils gave their all in a range of track and field events, showing great determination and resilience throughout the day.
Congratulations to Matthew House, who were crowned Sports Day champions, followed by Luke House in second place, Mark House in third, and John House in fourth. Every pupil should be incredibly proud of their efforts.
A huge thank you to all the parents, families, and friends who came along to support the event. We are also grateful to the staff who worked so hard behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly.
A brilliant day of sport, teamwork, and House spirit.

It is always a special moment when Common Entrance results begin to flow in during the later stages of this week. There are many privileges that come with being a Head, but inviting Year 8 pupils into my office to reveal their results is undoubtedly one of the highlights. Watching the full spectrum of emotions unfold - from the nervous anticipation as they walk through the door to the relief, pride and joy as they scan down their results.
While Common Entrance may not carry quite the same weight that it once did, it remains a significant milestone. It is wonderful to see this Year 8 cohort experience such a strong sense of achievement and success, having benefited from the entire examination process: the lessons, the revision and ultimately the challenge of the examination hall.
Well done Year 8 and a huge thanks for the St Michael's teaching staff for supporting them on their journey.

The Pre-Prep Sports Day was a resounding success this afternoon, with every child demonstrating fantastic enthusiasm, determination and sporting spirit. We were delighted that the weather stayed fair, allowing everyone to enjoy the event to the fullest.
The children had practised diligently in the lead-up to the day and took part in three races, with each year group enjoying a fun combination of individual, paired and team events. It was wonderful to see their confidence, effort and enjoyment on display throughout the afternoon.
A heartfelt thank you goes to all the parents, grandparents and friends who came along to support and encourage the children. A special mention must also go to the parents who bravely took part in the parents’ race at the end of the day – your enthusiasm and participation were greatly appreciated and added to the fun of the occasion.
We are also incredibly grateful to the SMPA for keeping everyone refreshed throughout the afternoon, and to Harry for the delicious lemon cake, which was enjoyed by all. Finally, a huge thank you to our Maintenance Team for their hard work in ensuring everything was perfectly prepared and ran smoothly from start to finish.
Congratulations once again to all our Pre-Prep children for making this year’s Sports Day such a memorable, enjoyable and successful event. We are very proud of you all!

What a fantastic weekend of sport and friendship at St Michael’s!
A huge thank you to Port Regis, their staff and pupils, for visiting us for a wonderful programme of fixtures. Our girls enjoyed a fantastic lineup of cricket, rounders and tennis. We were fortunate to complete the cricket before the weather forced a swift move indoors for rounders, while Sunday brought perfect conditions for the tennis fixtures at Caesarean Tennis Club, kindly hosted by Mr Ian Morgan.
The boys also had a wonderful day hosting Port Regis, enjoying friendly padel tennis matches followed by a cricket fixture. It was a fantastic opportunity to compete, build friendships and enjoy the spirit of school sport.
A special congratulations must go to one of our pupils who achieved his maiden cricket century, finishing on a superb 100* - a fantastic achievement!
Thank you to everyone involved for making the weekend such a success. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting Port Regis and look forward to welcoming them back next year.

Our Year 6 pupils, who have been studying World War II and the Occupation of Jersey, visited the Jersey War Tunnels on Tuesday last week. During the visit, the children explored the tunnels, discovered what life was like for islanders under German occupation, and saw real artefacts and exhibitions from the period. The trip helped bring their classroom learning to life and gave them a deeper understanding of Jersey’s important wartime history.
