Day 2 Update 🌊🔥
What a brilliant day we’ve had, experiencing all kinds of weather while out surfing! The children showed incredible determination, resilience and focus, giving it their all as they attempted to stand up and ride the waves. It was fantastic to see their confidence grow throughout the day and to watch them keep going, whatever the conditions.
This evening couldn’t have been more perfect – ending the day around the bonfire with plenty of games, laughter and entertainment, and of course, making delicious s’mores! 🍫🔥
Lots of smiles, wonderful memories being made and a very tired (but happy!) group of children ready for another exciting day tomorrow. 🌊🏄♂️🔥😊

Y6 have had a fabulous first day on their residential. Some amazing resilience and perseverance from the pupils and staff! Hours of fun at Creepy Valley and then back for dorm settling, investigating the site and enjoying the football. A beautiful sunset has finished our day.

Year 5 were delighted to welcome back Madame Surcouf to recap our French learning from the French Experience.
We practised the French alphabet and enjoyed playing games all about our families, using our French speaking and listening skills. Madame Surcouf was incredibly impressed with how much we had remembered and retained since her last visit!
Très bien, Year 5 ! 🇫🇷 We are so proud of your enthusiasm and confidence in French. Bravo à tous !

💃 Dance for Rights 🕺
This week we welcomed pupils and staff from Hautlieu School to lead the first of our Dance for Rights sessions.
Together, the children explored their rights through movement, focusing on:
⭐ Article 8 – The right to an identity
⭐ Article 12 – The right to have their views heard
⭐ Article 13 – The right to express themselves
It was wonderful to see our pupils sharing ideas, building confidence and expressing who they are through dance. We are excited to continue working with Hautlieu as we prepare for the national Dance for Rights event.
Thank you to the Hautlieu team for such an inspiring first lesson!

Our Year 1 Curious Cobras enjoyed a video call with the GSPCA to learn more about Barnacle Bill the loggerhead turtle. The children asked lots of thoughtful questions to help them write a letter asking for help to protect and save Barnacle Bill. We learnt that, after being washed up during Storm Ciaran he travelled from Guernsey to Brighton and then sailed on a Royal Navy boat to the Azure Islands where he was released into the wild.
This was a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to use their voices and share their views, linking to the UNCRC, particularly Article 13 (the right to seek and share information) and Article 29 (education that develops respect for the natural environment).
We are so proud of their curiosity, compassion and determination to make a difference!
