When I first took the controls of an aircraft, everything changed. Flying didn’t just give me a career — it gave me a purpose. And I’ve always believed that a dream like this shouldn’t come down to how much you can afford.

That’s why we are so proud to share this.

Skywalker Flight Training, in partnership with Jersey Aero Club and supported by a Government of Jersey 🇯🇪 skills grant, is offering ONE aspiring local pilot the chance to have their entire professional training fully funded — from Commercial Pilot Licence right through to Flight Instructor.

You’ll train with a professional pilot training organisation in the UK, then come home to Jersey to launch your career — inspiring and training the next generation of Island pilots. 🛩️

If you’ve earned your PPL but always thought a professional flying career was out of reach… this is your moment.

To apply you’ll need to be:

🟣Jersey-qualified resident
🟣Aged 18–50
🟣Hold a UK CAA PPL(A)
🟣Able to obtain a Class 1 Medical, and have 50+ hours as Pilot-in-Command.

Jersey from Above ✈️

Some days remind you exactly why we fly. Took a guest up in our PA-28 today for a tour around the island — and honestly, the views spoke for themselves.

From up here you see Jersey differently: Seymour Tower standing alone out in the tide, the oyster beds tracing patterns into the coastline, Gorey Castle watching over the east, and that incredible south-east corner where the sea pulls back to reveal something truly otherworldly.

At low tide, Jersey’s 12-metre tidal range — one of the largest in the world — pulls the sea back for miles, exposing a vast “lunar landscape” of granite platforms, rock pools and seaweed-draped reefs. The island practically doubles in size, revealing a maze of intertidal terrain so unique it’s protected as a Ramsar wetland site. From the air, it looks like nothing else in the world.

Grounded no more! 🛬➡️🛫

Suzanne handles our accounts, our admin, and pretty much everything else behind the scenes that keeps Skywalker flying — so we figured she’d earned a proper flight of her own.

We thought it was about time she swapped the office for the cockpit, so instructor Kobi took her up in G-JJER for a spin around our beautiful island. 🇯🇪

Public service announcement from the Crapauds.

There is Avgas in Jersey 🇯🇪 Lots of it. £1.56 a litre.

The pumps are flowing, and handling is £30 + GST under 3 tonnes.

Land, walk, fuel, go. The bowser is a few steps from the FBO desk — you can see it from reception. That’s the whole procedure.

Anyone finding themselves a little light on fuel this week is very welcome. We promise not to mention it.

Twelve minutes across the water, wheels down, tanks full, home in time for tea.

No hard feelings. Bring a donkey.
