It’s the social media post that started it ALL 6 years ago 🎉🎉 I had bought the supplies to do this craft project about a year before. Life got busy and it went on the basement with other unfinished crafts. Then the world shut down and we were all looking for anything to keep us from going crazy- puzzles, new recipes, etc. I went to my craft stash and took out the wood tiles I had bought. With the help of my Cricut, some command strips, and a level, I hung this in my family room the next day (where it still hangs today!). I shared it on Facebook, as we did everything in those days just to interact with people, and very quickly friends asked if I could make one for them. My husband said to me- hey- you could have something here. And that is my origin story, Designs by Paula J. Telling your family’s story through your favorite board game tiles for over six years 🎂

So nice to hear from my client Megina again! She always comes up with the best definitions. This one is for her good friend Joyce. I always say - my clients are the creative ones. I just bring their visions to life! Shipped out yesterday. I hope Joyce loves her gift!!

This is the third year we will be attending the club’s annual brunch and the third year Designs by Paula J will be making a donation to their raffle. One lucky winner will take home this custom Scrabble art frame. Because all students attending are Hospitality Business Management majors at the University of Delaware, I was able to personalize the design with words meaningful to them:
VitaNova- the student run restaurant where they will spend 3 semesters
Marriott- the Courtyard that is their classroom for a semester
Lerner- the Alfred Lerner College of Business & Economics
YouDee- the University of Delaware’s mascot
Newark- the city where they spend 4 years (or more!)
Main St- the center of town where everything happens
I think there will be a lot of tickets to win this prize!

How LUCKY am I that my business continues to grow after 6 years in business??! What started as a hobby during pandemic quickly turned into a side hustle when friends started referring me to others.
