I wish I had a picture of us together, but I was too busy listening to what he was saying. The quote that I’m sharing, Ringo didn’t say during a interview on TV or in a book, or some talk show.
He said it to me (and my mom and my dad) in person, while he was standing right next to me.
For the full-story, listen to this week’s episode of the Emo Morning Podcast (link in bio),
But the short of it is, you can be nobody, or you can be an actual member of the Beatles…and still get nervous. Imposter’s Syndrome is a human thing, but the way out of it is through it.

“Ev’ry morning’s sun follows every evening’s night
And ev’ry day I know that it will come.
Ev’ry day of the year, I know it will appear,
Even though the clouds may hide it some.” - Eric Johnson

Part of having solid emotional intelligence is knowing how and when to mourn, and the importance of grieving. I am doing that now.

You know what’s neat about being Spider-Man? For the longest time, I kept my identity hidden, but then I discovered that when I tell people that I’m Spider-Man, they don’t believe me anyway. So, it really doesn’t matter.
Imposter’s Syndrome:
The important thing to know about imposter’s syndrome is that everyone feels it at least SOME of the time.
Spider-Man doesn’t always believe that he can be Spider-Man, and when we take steps into the unknown, or into unfamiliar terrain, the earth that we stand on can feel like it doesn’t won’t stay, or that we aren’t qualified to do what we’re doing.
MAKE NO MISTAKE: Practice makes perfect.
BUT, anyone who’s ever done anything amazing, at some point felt like they weren’t good enough on some level.
Remember who you are, and give it every you’ve got. Spider-Man and Emo and I believe in you.

Today’s topic is about success, pushing passed Imposters Syndrome, and understanding the difference between failing, and simply not getting there yet!
Just because we haven’t arrived at a selected destination, or “succeeded”, doesn’t mean that we won’t. Sometimes we simply haven’t gotten there…yet! We’re still on our way.

“If I had a chance for another try, I wouldn’t change a thing.
It’s made my all of who I am inside.
And if I could thank God, that I am here and that I am alive.
And every day I wake, I tell myself a little harmless lie - the whole wide world is mine.” -

“If you could go back now would you say it differently?
If there was no one there would you open up for me?
If this was the last time we would ever speak, could we forgive somehow?
Could we let it Rest In Peace?” -
———
When I was in 11th grade, my English teacher gave our class an assignment prompt:
“What’s one way that you can simplify life?”
We came up with our answers.
Then went around the room and shared, those who wanted to.
It came to my turn. I had two. I’ll share the first:
🔹As hard as it is, get rid of any grudge you have toward another person or persons, because when we hold a grudge it keeps us continually bitter, angry, toward that person, or about a given situation. This only makes things, life more complicated.
There was a girl in our class who had a retort, to everyone’s answer.
To both of mine, she had nothing. In fact, she even said that, after thinking a long thought…
“Those are the only responses that I don’t have any retort for…”
I don’t know about you, but for me…letting go is hard.
I mean, really hard. I had a tendency to remember everything - and I mean, every thing. All of the things.
I think it’s because there’s a fear that if I do, justice won’t happen, or something terrible might take place.
But the fact is, in order to truly live a life of simplicity and contentment, to truly breathe easier, make progress - in our lives, careers, relationships - forgiveness isn’t just a noble idea.
It’s an essential.
Personally, I don’t want to spend my life constantly aggravated or at odds with people.
If life were to end tomorrow, or later today, I don’t want it to end knowing that things are left unsettled, or lacking peace.
Are there people in your life who are in need of forgiveness? Are there areas of your life that needing letting go of?
Work issues, sour deals, broken or wounded bones that need to heal?
Are there areas in your life where you need to let things lie?
How might things improve, if you did?
How will it feel, to finally let go of the bitterness, angry, resentment, frustration?
To finally be able to move on?
Sometimes, it’s time to let things lie.

Shoot the ball with confidence, even if it doesn’t go in every time. Even if it’s only 1 in 10, or 1 in 100, if you’re able to do that consistently, you can build off of that consistency.
