More women leaders would have made world more peaceful: Dalai Lama

“Historically, we see that a majority of warriors are men, even butchers tend to be men. Women represent a gentler approach,” Dalai Lama The Buddhist spiritual leader told the policemen at an event, that women are more sensitive to feelings of others. Therefore, they should work for the promotion of love and compassion, he said.

“Sometimes, I observe that if countries had more women leaders, we’d have been a more peaceful world,” the Dalai Lama said, adding that when Sanna Marin became the prime minister of Finland and she appointed women to key posts in her cabinet, he wrote to congratulate her.

On India, the Nobel Laureate said the country had many spiritual traditions and generally they live together peacefully.

“There are Hindus, Jains, Buddhists, Sikhs, Christians, Jews, Muslims and Zoroastrians, all living together here. In India, there are so many religious traditions, but all teach a common message of love,” he said, stressing that in today’s world, people need to recognise several aspects of the truth.

“Since they all convey a message of love, we can learn to appreciate them all,” he said.

As women we need to be heard, we need to valued. In order to be heard, @ we as women need to speak up, live by our values and set boundaries. More importantly value who we are.

Then change will happen. We need to work to together as a tribe and stop working against each other. Hold each other up.

Rejoicing is a must in my eyes. We often forget to rejoice unless it’s a birthday, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and for some Easter. We rarely are thankful for the little or even big things we might achieve in our lives and we rarely celebrate.

Well having spent years sabotaging my wins I have learnt to celebrate and rejoice.

Here’s a few reasons as to why I am rejoicing today. Here is some feedback from my clients over the last few months…..

Aj has helped me to recognise positive qualities and competence within myself.

I love the way Aj is able to direct me to useful sources of information and areas of development. The session never stops at one hour, she is able to send info during the week.

I love the way I come away from Aj’s sessions with goals and targets.

Loved todays session, feeling more positive about my development today.

Self care.

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, it's all too easy to neglect ourselves in pursuit of our goals, responsibilities, and endless to-do lists.

However, amidst the chaos, the importance of a good daily self-care routine cannot be overstated. It is not a luxury; it is a necessity for maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

If you are stressed, you might feel:
Irritable, angry, impatient or wound up.
Over-burdened or overwhelmed.
Anxious, nervous or afraid.
Like your thoughts are racing and you can't switch off.
Unable to enjoy yourself.
Depressed.
Uninterested in life.
Like you've lost your sense of humour.

Self-care is anything you do to take care of yourself so you can stay physically, mentally, and emotionally well. Its benefits are better physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being.

Remind yourself to not get discouraged but to continue taking baby steps. Some common examples of self-care include: Being more active (not just going to the gym, but taking more stairs or parking farther away) Planning out healthy, nutritious meals that fuel you and don't just fill you.

Many of us today live with a victim mentality. We feel as though bad things keep happening and the world is against us. We may feel as though everyone else is against us, be that your partner, your coworkers, or even your family or friends.

Victim mentality is a type of cognitive distortion of how a person views the world and their own circumstances. There are various causes of victim mentality. However, one of the main causes is life experiences, such as trauma or neglect in childhood.

I had a client last year who was her brother’s punch bag growing up, he belittled her to the extent she’s never been able to have a voice or speak out. She told me that they use to call her ‘maggimoo’ and she hated that name. She felt it belittled her. I said to her, ‘for me it sounds like a term of endearment’ and perhaps, ‘she should start thinking of it in this way, and it would take away the power.’ She had never thought of it in that and it did indeed help her, on her journey moving forward.
How to Stop Being the Victim

Take responsibility. You are the only one who controls your actions. ...
Self-care and compassion. Victim mentalities are subconsciously adopted as a way to cope, often from past trauma. ...
Start saying no. You can say no to something you don't want to do. ...
Educate yourself.

Hope

Hope reduces feelings of helplessness, increases happiness, reduces stress, and improves our quality of life

Essentially, hope is needed in the world because it enables us to endure challenges, dream about possibilities, and strive to make a positive impact. Without hope, it can be easy to lose motivation and perspective on what truly matters.

Have you ever lost hope? I have and it knocks you for six.

I fell into a dark black hole I just could not see any way out. Friends tried to rally around but to no avail. I took the bottle of pills into the school toilets I had only managed to swallow 11 from the bottle, before a teacher walked in. It was thanks to an amazing Head of Year Teacher that believed in me, that motivated me, to move forward. Thanks to him I found the faith, hope, determination to take on every challenge that comes my way.

Hope is imperative for survival. We all need hope in our lives.

Try shifting these statements into one of declarative action. “When I get my Master’s...” or “Tomorrow, I will...” “I love how brave I am, I will attend or I will start ..they can manage a day without me, let’s juggle my schedule to find the time, and follow it up with one step or action, you will take towards your goal.

I use the wheel of life coaching tool several times a year and I often use it with my clients. Why?

The Wheel of Life is a flexible coaching tool that offers a 360-degree view of your current life situation. It quickly identifies areas of imbalance and helps you to create goals and set priorities based on your life Consider each area like a spoke of a wheel: When one of the spokes is shorter than the others, it can throw the whole thing off balance.

Your wheel of life does not have to run on full cylinder ie 10’s. For some just being on 8’s is enough but what is important is that all sections are aligned.

How do I see the light in my world, in myself? How did I know I was meant to be a coach?

Why did I avoid it for so many years. Despite all my training I still did not believe I should be coaching.

As my father put it to me we don’t want another Harry and Megan story. Speaking my truth to him was airing my dirty laundry.

When I was a foster mum to abused and runaway teens. I remember the best relationship I had with the social workers were the ones who lived the story, who had life under their belt. The social workers I avoided were those fresh out of uni and were living in a dream world and not reality.

To truly grasp what we need and what we want. we really do need to have a few battle scars, to be able to relate. Don’t you agree?

So how did I know I was meant to be a coach? It was when I was doing my Jay Shetty training. I was on a training call with (who I describe now as my bestie ) Laura Ann Hind. I was to be her coach on a zoom call, with about twenty other coaches watching me. Now Laura was an experienced mindful coach and had been working with adults and teens for a number of years. I was terrified. I was not looking forward to it at all. Half way through the coaching call, I asked her, ‘ did she value others more than she valued herself’, it was her ‘ahh ‘ moment. I had hit the nail on the head, as to why she was not achieving her goals, she was too busy helping others, achieve theirs. The fact that I had helped an established coach gave me such a sense of pride.

Coaching my clients gives me so much joy, when you see where they start and where they end up, when you see that journey it’s so rewarding.

What are achievements and milestones and why do we need to celebrate them?

Achievements are the building blocks that enable someone to construct a sense of themselves as a success. The achievements that matter most combine to form a version of success that has meaning and substance for the individual.

Celebrating milestones provides much-needed motivation to continue striving for success. Acknowledging your progress reinforces the belief that hard work and dedication pay off. This positive reinforcement boosts confidence and encourages you to tackle more significant challenges in the future.

When I passed my degree in Contour Fashion and my collection was going down a catwalk my father bought me an amethyst necklace to celebrate and say, “well done.”

I don’t know about you, but I don’t celebrate my achievements. I seem to go from one goal to the next. For many of us, we get so caught up in the day-to-day of building a business or career that we don’t stop and celebrate our milestones and achievements.

I’m sure you know this feeling: when we are working really hard and so focused on the task, we often forget what we are achieving is incredible. We all do this, whether it’s training to climb a mountain, renovating an apartment or achieving a career goal.

I even did this with my collection that went down the catwalk. I organised my gorgeous friend to join me from Seattle, to help me on the day. Right up until the day I was saying things like, “I don’t know why I agreed to do this catwalk, why have I asked, Cindee to come over to help and celebrate. I thought it was going to be a disaster. But do you know what happened? Just thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes. Cindee was truly amazing, she believed in me, the catwalk was a success and my collection appeared on the front page of a newspaper with the title, ‘A shape of things to come!’

It was incredible. It had been quite a journey, as my mother had died, just as I started my degree, I went through a messy divorce, I had surgery, lost 198 lbs and was diagnosed as infertile. Those three years of my degree had been quite a journey.

I was so grateful to my friend and to my dad who gave me my necklace, they reminded me that I need to celebrate milestones. So I have written out as many milestones as I can remember and added them to my diary. Now, even if I don’t have a party to celebrate, I will stop and acknowledge what I have achieved.

It’s time to acknowledge your achievements even if you don’t think they are huge or life changing. They all have a level of significance to your life. It’s so important to celebrate your milestones and achievements and even more important to share them with the people who love and support you.

What milestones do you have coming up that you should celebrate? Write them out and add them to your diary. And let people know about them, so they can celebrate your amazing life with you.

Age 38 I was told my mother had ovarian cancer and six months to live, she thankfully gave us four years before her passing. At that time I was also diagnosed with PCOS. (Poly Systic Ovaries) The Dr informed me.’he wasn’t sure if my weight 25 stone, size 32, was the cause of PCOS or the PCOS was the cause of the weight.’ I wanted a baby and ideally I wanted my mum to know I was at least pregnant before her passing.

I took drastic steps, went and paid for a gastric bypass pass and was in the intensive care unit, after the operation. I could have died. The ladies in the clinic at the same time as me all went on, to loose all their weight, within nine months. However, I only lost 4 stone. I went back into the clinic twice, to have it adjusted, but the reality is they can only guarantee 40% weight loss

I knew I had to take matters in my own hands and thanks to a five day event ( which later led me to train as NLP practitioner) with Paul Mc Kenna , that I had to reset my mind. With Hypnosis and NLP, I went onto create better eating habits, infact I went the other way from junk food to eating nothing but organic food.

I took up the gym and spent 17 hours a week working out, my friend’s even nick named me the ‘beast.’ When I began to see the results, I realized that my greatest motivator was myself. "The hardest workout you'll ever do is in your head. Thank God for NLP which changed my mindset.

“It'll be that moment your head and heart say give up and that passion and want inside of you fights back."

In two years I lost 198 lbs.

I am now an Accedited Empowerment Coach, NLP practitioner and Hypnotist.

I run a 3 month Healthy You Program.

My mission is to help women see and believe that they are the masters of their own health. This supports you in healing your gut, to lose weight and get toned.

We will make these changes through nutrition, lifestyle change and controlling those negative thought patterns.

I don’t just help clients to heal their gut health but to build the unshakable confidence they need to take action towards their dreams and go from frustrated to unstoppable.

Having lost an incredible 198lbs in two years. I know exactly how I got there, all my emotional triggers and the work I had to do to remove this excess weight.
