I want to share my sincere appreciation to every single person who supported me throughout the campaign season, from signing my petition in July through the dark hours of yesterday evening. 💙
Of course, a huge thank you to every single person who voted for me! 🙏🏼
But I know support goes so much further than votes.
💙 I acknowledge that the support I received came through positive thoughts for those who don’t live in Clifton or for those who couldn’t vote. 💙Support came my way through speaking my name in kindness and good intentions.
💙 Support looked like sending me private messages to cheer me on.
💙I appreciate everyone who shared my campaign page and posts.
💙Thank you to everyone who agreed to have a sign on their lawn.🙏🏼
And my tiny but mighty team (Amalia Ocasio-Vega, Mei Ling, Diana Peña, Sabrina Cruz, Megan Lake Beltran, Laura Ragusa and her adorable Nate, my MAMACITA Esther Suarez, my little Aris and others who are not on Facebook) who showed up for me at the polls yesterday: my heart is still smiling. ☺️❤️☺️❤️☺️
🙏🏼To the elected officials who took a chance on me because they saw my authentic passion for education (Lauren Murphy, Ray Grabowski, Judy Bassford, Anthony Santiago), THANK YOU! 🙏🏼 I would be remiss if I did not consider your influence in getting me a seat at the table.
💙Same goes for strong community leaders like and others who were instrumental in helping me get started and introducing me to some incredible people. 🙏🏼
I could go on and on about the gratitude I feel! ☺️
Thank you CLIFTON! 🙏🏼
Please know I take this win with honor and will always do my personal best in serving our children, students, families and teachers.
To Joseph Siano and Joe Canova, congratulations to you both as well!
I fully trust that we will do great work together. I look forward to what is ahead of us come January!
As a small token of gratitude, I am sharing a watercolor painting of my own —a bouquet of flowers I get to share with the community.
