is a Barcelona-based art collective whose work focuses on the investigation, recovery and production of q***r memories to review the hidden history related to gender politics.
"Schreber is a woman" is a film that departs from the case and memoirs of Daniel Paul Schreber, a German judge confined to the Sonnenstein mental asylum in Saxony in 1894.
In her Memoirs of My Nervous Illness, she recounts feeling like a woman, among other experiences. The limited vinyl edition with the original soundtrack created by El Palomar for โ€˜Schreber is a Womanโ€™, depars from the voices Schreber heard in the asylum and described in her memoirs. This production overlaps contemporary sound aesthetics with late 1800' Schreber context and references. All the voices are performed by Charm Mone and all the songs were created by Mariokissme, under the direction of El Palomar.

๐Ÿ“ธ After the opening on the 10th of June, we take a closer look at โ€™s installation "Blutbade Parade", on view until the 25th of July at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo.

Her work is a formal reflection upon alternative historical narratives:
In 1916 in the city of Karlsruhe, the French air force bombed a circus in the middle of a performance, killing hundreds of civilians, including many women and children.
Starting from this historical fact, Pauline Curnier Jardinโ€™s installation Blutbad Parade, narrates the story of a phantom circus that returns every hundred years to play again on the site of original violence. The work weaves together her interest for the carnivalesque and avant-guarde, tracing an inquiry into the categories of the deviant, the monstrous and the aberrancy of the war.

๐Ÿ“น "Tracing a memory part 2" goes online for 10 days.

After showing Gario's new piece at Kunsthal Gent until June 13, we make it available on our page. โคต๏ธ

Quinsy Gario' s new piece relates to Dutch colonization, decolonization movements, and contemporary concerns of recolonization in the Caribbean. In 2019, with his mother, he shot a film on the Island of St. Maarten, a former Dutch colony, to revisit the locations shown on a post-war governmental documentary (1947) on former Dutch colonies in the Caribbean. While attempting to synchronize the two films,
Gario makes comments on the racist and colonial terms used in the original 1947 documentary and explore the role of memory formation in resistance to acts of political and historical suppression.
The piece was filmed\edited by Shivadas De Schrijver and produced in collaboration with Kunsthal Gent

๐Ÿ“ธ Some pictures of โ€™s "Night Soil / Fake Paradise" on view at Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo until July 25.

The work is part of her experimental semi-documentary films series Night Soil dedicated to cultural phenomena that contradict the linear progression of capitalism and its value system.
The piece considers the spiritual, medicinal and social dimensions of , an Amazonian plant with psychedelic properties. Navigating personal stories of experiences and perspectives induced by ayahuasca, the video installation pays close attention to the female voice, which has traditionally been neglected in psychedelic research and popular culture.
