Florence was just as beautiful as we hoped! We had lots of free time to wander the town. We also celebrated Kristine’s birthday today!! What a way to celebrate your day- Florence and all 30 of us signing! 🥳🥳

Today was spent traveling to Orveito and Siena. The towns were absolutely picturesque. Quaint streets, excellent food, and amazing views. We had the best luck today. Orveito was a checkpoint in the classic car race called the 1000 Miglia. We saw beautiful cars and watched as they drove off to their next destination. Siena was just as beautiful and walking around the streets, we stumbled upon a local parade celebrating “Siena Day”. We asked a local girl and she said this is the most important day of the year. They walk around every neighborhood, singing and praying in the churches. The men were dressed in the traditional outfits, while the woman, children and others walked behind them wearing a scarf of the Siena flag. It was incredible to watch and feel a part of something to special with the people of Siena.

Today was spent mostly in the bus driving from Athens to Delphi then Delphi to Meteora. We stopped for lunch at a tavern named “Tavern Bellybutton” since Delphi is the center of the world, and it was amazing! So much to learn and see, and the kids walked all the way to the top to see the ancient stadium. Our guide was fantastic giving lots of history and great information.

Leah and Mrs White were chosen to wear the traditional Greek outfit and dance with others at the dinner. They were told to come wash dishes.. way better surprise!
