Why Take This Course?

GUE’s Closed-Circuit Rebreather DiverLevel 1 course is intended to provide the opportunity for divers to gradually transition from open circuit diving to closed-circuit diving.

The course is intended to challenge divers in a comfortable environment that emphasizes the need for learning management, maintenance procedures, and protocols of the closed-circuit rebreather. The course also emphasizes the need for increased physical and mental fitness.

The Global Underwater Explorers CCR level 1 course is designed for Global Underwater Explorers Tech 1 trained divers with a minimum of 25 experience dives.

During the 6 day class we will focus on:
-Knowledge of the function of rebreathers
-Prepare a rebreather and verify functionality
-Operate the rebreather through a dive
-Recognize, identify and solve rebreather failures
-Plan rebreather dives
-Understand rebreather limitations and inherent risks
