That's my life these days !
I don't want to share on FB or IG, and you won't find me here. I don't engage with fb and ig, and i don't share openly there.
But iI have opened a SeeThesSacred channel on Whatsapp where you can get updates (and without notifications so it won't ping not bug you).
I also have a new SeeTheSacred community on whatsapp which, when your request to join is approved, you can get notification, reply and react (or turn that off!). In those communities, I'll share really private moments and discreet insights within the model of our confraternity circle of trust. It will be an impactful way to love these days in Rome as if you were there !

The Roman legions are long gone. As is the empire they fought for.
And the Christians and Jews they persecuted on this very spina are still alive and kicking 🏃♀️
It’s wild when you think about it!
Running laps where martyrs once witnessed, as rhe golden glow of the setting sun shines on the renactors of those who first did the harming. Because the sun did ultimately set on their hate and rheir empire.
But then those soldiers of late Roman antiquity became some of the earliest converts and their testament and legacy ain’t everlasting empire, but the everlasting generations that led to people like me, running laps- living life- continuing to testify to the beauty of faith.
History is something people.
And so is rhe golden thread of the story of faith.

Where the recipe for stuffed zucchini flowers comes from remains a mystery - also because each region of the Italian Peninsula has its own traditional recipe for making them.
The common thread?
Their delicate flavor serving as a starter for any chic Italian meal.
Zucchini arrived from the “New World” with 16th century Spanish Conquistadors, but originally were only used for decorative purposes - leaving 100 years or more for Italians to discover what to do with the vibrant flowers in the kitchen. Once the secret was out, culinary creativity yielded countless methods of preparation. 👩🍳

Sometimes you just have to STOP—
and appreciate the totally random beauty that’s all around us.
We totally don’t deserve it, and yet we do, because we were made for it!

It’s Marchhhhh and that means one thing:
A crazy month spent be-bopping around the US (west coast this time) and some much overdue paris-time.
Time spent in an airport might not seem so sacred, but the ability to travel so far so often so safely and so inexpensively is such a miracle and a wonder! It opens the whole world up to so many more people than ever before in history. And I appreciate it even more after the shutdown.
Travel: it can be miracle and a blessing.

Current obsession.
Very Lent. Very Ancient. Very Cool.
And I just so happened to spot this at Mass and Divine Mercy Chapter this evening in a random floor paver in the medieval bastion-church of santi quattro coronati in Rome.
A sign? Divine Providence ? Or every day meaning and beauty we just so rarely take the time to notice? Or all of it? You decide.
