The devastating flash flood in Nepal is more than a flood story—it is a lesson in how interconnected the Himalayan environment really is.
Preliminary assessments indicate that an ice–rock avalanche likely blocked the Lhende Khola, causing water to build up and then surge downstream into the Bhotekoshi River system. Scientists are still investigating the exact chain of events, including whether recent seismic activity contributed to the slope failure. (Kathmandu Post)
