Fast fashion’s impact is no longer a secret… yet transparency is still missing. 👀

This article explores how Digital Product Passports (DPPs) could transform the fashion industry by making every product traceable, revealing its materials, supply chain, and environmental footprint. ♻️

But is it really a solution? Or just a more sophisticated way to greenwash? With the growing role of AI, the risk of biased data, lack of accountability, and automated misinformation becomes even more real. 🤖

Discover how DPPs could reshape sustainability in fashion, and what needs to happen to make them truly effective.

Please bring only clean items in good condition and without visible defects. Damaged, stained, or excessively worn items are not accepted. Accessories must be functional and in good condition.

2. Accepted items
Allowed:

- Textile, leather, and faux leather accessories (scarves, bags, hats, belts, ties, gloves, headwear)
- Shoes
Not allowed:

- Sportswear or technical clothing
- Home textiles

3. Number of items
A maximum of 5 items per person is allowed.

4. Token-based exchange system
Items will be evaluated upon arrival, and tokens will be assigned based on their type:
1 token for standard items (e.g. T-shirts, accessories)
2 tokens for premium items (e.g. coats, shoes, or like-new items)
Please respect the spirit of the initiative and bring only items that you would be happy to receive.

5. Non-compliant items
Items that are not suitable for swapping (damaged or not compliant) can still be brought and left at the AMSA corner, where they will be properly disposed of.

Alongside the swap, a series of informational booths will be available, hosted by organizations that collaborate with Bocconi and are actively engaged in sustainability and circular economy initiatives:

♻️AMSA, responsible for waste management and urban cleaning services in Milan, also active on campus with recycling and WEEE collection initiatives.
🐢Plastic Free, a non-profit organization promoting clean-up activities and awareness on plastic pollution, involving students in sustainability actions.
🗑️NANDO, a startup using artificial intelligence to monitor and improve waste collection across the Bocconi campus.
🧽Re-cig, a circular economy startup that transforms cigarette filters into new plastic materials, with dedicated collection points on campus.

An opportunity to learn, get involved, and actively contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle!🍀

As the world race toward clean energy is heating up, millions of fossil fuel workers are being let down in the transition process. Surely, on one side, the shift to renewables is creating jobs globally: 34.8 million in clean energy vs 32.6 million in fossil fuels in 2024. On the other side, however, those statistics aren’t depicting the whole picture.

Coal miners in Poland, oil workers in California, communities in Bulgaria - for them, the transition stands out differently. The OECD projects 154,000 EU coal jobs lost by 2030, and reskilling programs, while quite promising, are still far too small to retrain displaced workers. 🏭💼

The difference between a fair transition and a devastating one? Union, inclusion and a real social dialogue. A 2025 study comparing plant closures in Finland and the US found that where workers had a seat at the table, outcomes were dramatically better: less unemployment, way more stable conditions. 🤝 What happens when they aren’t included within the decision process? Wage cuts, unstable contracts, and long-term uncertainty. 📉

EU’s initiative “Just Transition Mechanism” is mobilizing €55 billion to support affected regions, with successful stories mostly emerging in Germany’s Lusatia and Spain’s Asturias. But for fossil-fuel dependent nations in the Global South, with thinner safety nets and still weaker institutions, the struggle is far greater. 🌐

A truly just transition isn’t just about going green; it’s about who carries the cost of getting there.

We often think of food as a simple choice, but behind every piece of meat there is a much bigger story. 🌍
Intensive farming has made food production faster and cheaper, but it also comes with serious consequences. From greenhouse gas emissions and deforestation to water waste and biodiversity loss, its impact on the environment is enormous.
At the same time, this system affects our health too: the overuse of antibiotics is increasing resistance, while high meat consumption is linked to major diseases. And beyond all this, there is the ethical question of how animals are treated in these conditions.
In our new article, we explore what is really behind intensive farming, why it has become so widespread, and what we can do to change it.
Because this is not just about food — it’s about the future of our planet, our health, and the choices we make every day.
