After an incredible week in Lagos visiting , I landed in Vancouver upon the invitation of Canadian Institute of Mining — speaking about investment, Africa’s mining resources, women, capital and the future we are building across the continent.

Botswana may be small, but we are ambitious, investment-ready and thinking long term.

The continent is rising. Africa is rising. And we’re building.

First weekend back in Milan and my heart is full. Home-cooked love from my talented nieces Jessica and Fannie, and art all around—Jessica's creativity shines on every wall. Nothing inspires me more than young souls chasing their passions fearlessly and living their truth.

Christmas started a little differently for me this year. 🎄

In the children’s wards at Sir Ketumile and Princess Marina — sharing gifts, gentle hugs, and big love with the bravest babies and their mummies.

What stayed with me most?
The caregivers.

Doctors, nurses, cleaners, carers — showing up with smiles despite shortages, challenges, and long days. No capes. Just courage. Real superheroes.

To every service worker away from family so the rest of us can keep going — thank you.

Economies move because you do.
You are the real MVPs.

May we remember those less fortunate than ourselves, and never forget who truly carries us. 🤍

Honoured to have participated in “The Mattei Method” — a powerful forum celebrating the legacy of Enrico Mattei, whose belief that energy and economics must ultimately serve humanity remains deeply relevant today.

The Mattei Mission, a strategic initiative led by the Italian Government under Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, is reshaping cooperation with Africa — replacing the old donor–recipient model with a framework of mutual investment, shared development, and long-term partnership across energy, infrastructure, and education.

It was inspiring to engage with leaders from Italy, the Gulf, and Africa — and to witness a genuine commitment to building bridges between continents on the pillars of respect and reciprocity.

Grateful to Rosa Mattei, Aroldo Mattei, and the Fondazione Social Economic Development Enrico Mattei for their gracious invitation and for advancing Enrico Mattei’s vision of collaboration and sustainable progress.
