The Duomo di Orvieto is a large 14th-century Roman Catholic cathedral located in the town of Orvieto.
Inside the Duomo, there is a small chapel, the “Cappella del Corporale” which lies on the north side of the main crossing. It was built between 1350 and 1356 to house the stained corporal of the miracle of Bolsena.
Stunning!

The Basilica Cistern is the largest of several hundred ancient cisterns that lie beneath the city of Istanbul (formerly Constantinople).
Historical texts claim that 7,000 workers were involved in the construction of the cistern and until 1985 little wooden boats were used to tour it!

Right on the border between Georgia and Turkey is a beautiful little coastal city called Batumi. A mix of postmodern and more traditional Mediterranean architecture come together to create a vibrant, bustling village surrounded by the mountains and the Black Sea.
Plus they have this strange giant disco ball that we thought was pretty cool. 😊

A few days ago we visited Qinghai Lake, the largest lake in China.
The lake is at an impressive altitude, more than 3 thousand metres above sea level. During this time of the year it’s entirely frozen.
Over the years Qinghai Lake has varied greatly in size, and is now shrinking even faster: in the last 3 decades it has shrunk by 312 square km 😞
