The International Chamber Music Course for Young String Players was set up in 1998, and has become a well-established international event where excellence combined with experience creates the opportunity for musical and human development at the highest level. Every year, between July and August, more than 70 violins, violas and cellos ring out in the mountains of the Val Chisone (PraCatinat/Fenest
relle), where highly qualified and well-known teachers from all over the world lead an intensive series of workshops, concerts and educational activities. Among the “guest artists”, who have done masterclasses at the course are Natalia Gutman, Valentin Berlinsky, Dora Schwarzberg, Mstislav Rostropovich and Rohan de Saram. The course programme consists of four daily sessions of chamber music, orchestra, and master class with the guest artists. The strictly musical training-program is accompanied by a series of leisure activities – football , walks in the Orsiera Rocciavrè park (http://www.parco-orsiera.it/Parco.html), the beautiful natural setting of the course location.
