The school is situated in the far northern region of Limpopo province in the former Venda homeland in Vhembe district and it is under the jurisdiction of Thulamela Local Municipality. Tombolagole is found at Tsh*tavha Sambandou Village at a distance of 1.5 Kilometer off the Main Road from Makonde to Exxarro Tshikondeni Coal Mine, the hub of economy in the far northern region. hool is the direct feeder of pupils into the school. However, surrounding villages such as Mahunguhwi, Sambandou, Tswera (before local seconda school was built) had their children also attending their secondary education at the school. Like most rural schools, Tombolagole has major problems with regard to classrooms shortages, proper infrastructures, abblution facilities, and other vital educational resources. Besides these and other many challenges, the school over the years is boastfull of achieving some good matric results and developing people who are currently top entrepreneurs, skilled and professional personnels working in both private and public sectors in South Africa and abroad. TDA is a local youth initiated Agency which is aimed at steering developmental activities in the village and currently in the process of implimenting a programe called "Adopt a grade 12 Learner 2012". This programme's goal is to enhance and restore the culture of learning and teaching at the school. The goals include helping improvement of grade 12 pass rate through the entorship programme. Mentors targerted comprised of the residents of Tsh*tavha Sambandou, Ex Tombolagole students and other ppl who has centimental attachments with the village and or school.
