The undergraduate medical curriculum has tow broad phases:
Pre-clinical and clinical
Pre-clinical studies follow both theoretic and laboratory based basic medical sciences teaching. The studies include human biology, medical physics, physiology chemistry, anatomy, embryology, histopathology, pharmacology & parasitology. The year six is entirely periods of residency in medicine, surgery, paediatrics , gynecology and obstetrics in general and specialized hospitals .

Program description:
The duration of the course is six years. Candidates will be required to pass a medical assessment prior to admission. The assessment will be carried by a special college medical committee. Carrier opportunities
Upon graduation students are conferred with the degrees of MB, Ch.B. Graduates are entitled to full registration with the Kurdistan medical syndicates but they have to serve for two years as resident medical officer at different major hospitals and minor medical centers. Graduates then pursue training in the peripheral districts of the major city hospitals for one year and coming back to major hospitals working in the area of medicine in which they wish to practice as senior house officers SHO.
