دوای ڕاپهڕینی ساڵی (1991) كه بووه هۆی دروستبوونی پهرلهمان وحوكمهتی ههرێمی كوردستان، به ههوڵ و كۆششی زانست خوازان و دڵسۆزانی سلێمانی و كوردستان، ههوڵێكی چالاكانه و دڵسۆزانه درا بۆ سهرلهنوێ دامهزراندنهوهی زانكۆی سلێمانی. دوای ئهوهی ڕژێمی فاشی بهعس ساڵی (1981) ئهم زانكۆیهی گواستهوه بۆ شاری ههولێر و كۆلێجی زمان له ڕۆژی 14-11-1992 دامهزراوه و وانهی تیادا وتراوهتهوه.
سهرهتا لهم كۆلێجهدا تهنیا بهشی زمان وئهدهبی كوردی كرایهوه (1992)، ساڵی (1993) بهشی زمان و ئهدهبی عهرهبیش كرایهوه و ساڵی (1994) بهشی زمان و ئهدهبی ئینگلیزیش كرایهوه.
خوێندنی بالاَ له كۆلێجی زماندا ساڵی (1997-1998) دهستی پێكردو له ههر سێ بهشه زانستییهكه خوێندكاری وهرگرتووه و تا ئهمڕۆ ئهو پڕۆسهیه بهردهوامه.

ژمارهی خوێندكارانی ئێواران (527) خوێندكاره. After the uprising of 1991, Kurds could have their own parliament and government. Kurdish experts and faithful people of Kurdistan tried to re-establish the University of Sulaimani. In the beginning of the university re-establishment, which was in 1992, the College of Languages comprised Kurdish Department only. Later, in 1993, Arabic Department was founded. Then it was followed by the opening of English Department in 1994. Postgraduate studies began in the college in 1997 for both MA and PhD. Many people have received their postgraduate degrees in three departments so far and the college continues admitting students wishing to undertake postgraduate studies. Today, the College of Languages has evening classes both for Kurdish and English languages. For those, the college has opened two other departments; English Department/Evening Classes and Kurdish Department/Evening Classes.
