ئارتیکڵەکانی زمانی ئینگلیزی چین؟ (A /An / The)
Articles in English (simple & clear explanation):
In English, articles are small words used before nouns to show whether the noun is specific or general. There are three articles:
لە زمانی ئینگلیزی ، ئارتیکڵەکان وشەی بچوکن بەکاردەهێنرێن لەپێش (ناو) بۆ نیشاندانی ئەوەی کە ناوەکە تایبەتە یان گشتیە.
سێ جۆر ئارتیکڵمان هەیە:

1. Definite Article: ئارتیکڵی دیار( ناسراو )
Use the when the noun is specific or already known.
کاتێک بەکاری بهێنە ناوەکە تایبەت بێت یان پێشتر ناسراو بێ(The)
Uses: لەم حالەتانە بەکاردێ
1. When both speaker and listener know the thing.
یەکەم/ کاتێک گوێ گر و قسەکەر هەردوکیان شتەکە ئەزانن
→ I saw the teacher. مامۆستاکەم بینێ
2. When it is mentioned before
دووەم: شتێک کاتێک پێشتر ئاماژەی پێکراوە
→ I bought a book. The book is interesting.
کتێبێکم کری. کتێبەکە سەرنج راکێشە
3. With unique things.
سێیەم/ لەگەل شتە بێ هاوتاکان واتا ئەو شتانەی یەک هەیەلە گەردون. وەک
→ the sun, the moon
خۆر - مانگ
4. With superlatives
چوارەم/ لەگەل پلەی باڵا
→ the best student
باشترین خوێنکار
5. With ordinal numbers
پێنجەم/ لەگەڵ ئەو ژمارانەی بەشێوەی ( یەکەم- دووەم هتد )
→ the first day
یەکەم رۆژ

2. Indefinite Articles: a / an
دووەم/ ئارتیکڵی نادیار ( نەناسراو)
Use a or an when the noun is general or mentioned for the first time.
بەکاربێنە کاتێک ناوەکە گشتیە یان بۆ یەکەم جار ئاماژەی پێدەکرێ(A)یان (An)
🔹 a. کەی بەکاردێ ؟
Used before consonant sounds
بەکاردەهێنرێ لە پێش دەنگە نەبزوێنەکان
→ a book, a university, a car
کتێبێک - زانکۆێک - سەیارەێک
🔹 an کەی بەکاردێ؟
Used before vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u)
بەکاردەهێنرێ لەپێش دەنگە بزوێنەکان وەک ( )
→ an apple, an hour, an idea
سێوێک - کاتژمێرێک - بیرۆکەێک
⚠️ Important: زانیاری گرنگ
It depends on the sound, not the letter.
پشت دەبەستین بە دەنگەکە نەوەک پیتەکان واتا خوێندنەوەکەی دوایی خۆی .
• a university (y sound)
• an hour (silent h)

3. Zero Article (no article) ئارتیکڵ نەبێت
No article is used in these cases:
هیچ ئارتیکڵێک لەم حالەتانەدا بەکارنایەت جگە لە شازەکان.
1. With plural nouns (general meaning)
یەکەم/ لەگەل ناوی کۆ .
→ Students need books.
خوێنکارەکان پێویستیان بە کتێبە.
2. With uncountable nouns (general)دووەم/ لەگەل ناوی نەژمێدراو
→ Water is important.
ئاو گرنگە.
3. With languagesسێیەم/ لەگەل زمانەکان
→ English is easy.
ئینگلیزی ئاسانە.
4. With meals لەگەڵ ژەمەکان
→ I eat breakfast at 7.
من نانی بەیانی کاتژمێر ٧ دەخۆم.
5. With names of people and most places. پێنجەم/ لەگەل ناوی خەڵک و زۆربەی شوێنەکان
→ Ali, Iraq, London
