Aviation Engineering Department Students Participate in the First International Logistics Exhibition in Erbil

With the conclusion of the First International Logistics Exhibition in Erbil, we are proud to say that the event was a great success, especially for the Aviation Engineering students who achieved an outstanding accomplishment.

The students successfully showcased their aircraft designs and projects, attracting remarkable attention despite the exhibition being primarily organized for businessmen and companies, rather than academic institutions. This made their participation even more impressive.

What is particularly worth mentioning is that the students managed to compete in terms of attraction with major exhibitors, including companies presenting tanks and armored vehicles. Remarkably, they drew the attention of numerous media and news channels, highlighting the quality and creativity of their work.

Well done to all the students. The department staff believe that this achievement will serve as a strong motivation for all Aviation Engineering students in the future.

From Lecture Halls to the Heart of the Engines! ✈️

Our Aviation Department students took a deep dive into the industry with a field visit to the Erbil Gaz Power Station. It was an incredible exploratory journey to see the "beating heart" of both aircraft and power stations up close.
This wasn't just a tour; it was a golden opportunity to witness Compressors and Turbines in their massive, real-world scale—moving beyond the diagrams in our textbooks. Our students engaged in technical discussions about:
• Aerodynamics and airflow through compressor stages.
• Combustion systems and thermal efficiency.
• Turbine blade design and cooling technologies.

Linking thermodynamic theories to practical reality is what builds great engineers. A huge thank you to the station management and the expert engineers for their warm welcome and for sharing their invaluable expertise with the next generation of aviation pioneers.
