The Socio-Cultural Layers of Baghdad Project, supported by the Nahrein Network – UCL , participated in the 8th Scientific Conference of the State Board of Antiquities and Heritage: “The Civilizational Role of Baghdad Through Historical Eras,” held on 27 October 2025 at Al-Mansour Melia Hotel, Baghdad, under the theme “Baghdad: Authenticity and Everlasting Brilliance.”

Researcher Amal Fadhil Khanjar presented the paper “Memory Layers of Historic Baghdad: An Interactive Digital Platform for Reviving Urban and Social Heritage,” co-authored with Sonia Ibrahim .syr and Prof. Dr. Huda A. S. Al-Alwan. The presentation explored how digital storytelling can help revive the urban and social memory of historic Baghdad.

Amal received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities in recognition of her participation and valuable contribution to the conference.
