A vocalist then joins them, singing partially improvised melodies of the maqam tradition — a system of melodic improvisation which originated in 400 years ago.

A Poem For The Men And Women Of Iraq
You went out
demonstrating
searching really
for freedom
and justice
You marched
with the voices
of the poor
and the left
behind
And some
of you
were shot
dead
in the
street
But those
still standing
went back
the next day
demanding
answers and
change
And then
even more
were shot
dead
And still
you came
back
on the
continuing
days
with your
strength
visible
and growing
And one
of you called
out in
hope and desperation
"Just give us
a country,
we just want
a country
to live in."
Nothing more
Nothing less

This monument is a cylindrical column of broken stone and the agent of the fall represents the Iraqi culture, and there is a group of hands and arms surrounding it as an expression of its attempt to support it so as not to fall (that is, so to save culture from falling, and written cuneiform symbols meaning here Writing begun).

When I give you an authentic Iraqi word like "kleicha", please don't change the filling, because it will change the whole meaning of that word and the taste of the original food.😊😊
