This is a popular question!

I understand that many English learners simply cant and would like some information to help then develop their without classes. So I'm going to provide you with hopefully the answer you’re looking for.

There are many ways so I'm going to highlight a few for you. I can only recommend that you apply them and see how they work for you.

Absorb as much English material as you can. You should constantly be seeking new and relevant English materials like podcasts, videos, articles etc on your favourite topics. There are millions online that you can use. This is crucial as it provides you with the main language in-put that you will ultimately use in your speaking.

Try and learn more about English pronunciation as this is also a huge part of spoken English. Actually this is often overlooked in most English classes, so it’s actually better if you’re doing this by yourself. Take as many opportunities as you can to speak in English, Contrary to what you might think there are lots of ways you can practice speaking alone.

Here are some of my suggestions and I recommend you give them try.



A fantastic speaking activity you can do from the comfort of your own home ALONE is to read out loud!

Whenever, you read anything in English, read out loud; it could be a book, an article a social media post.

START RIGHT NOW: Try READING THIS answer out loud!

When you read out loud you’re using your mouth muscles to produce English sounds. When you speak in your own language you use different mouth muscles to when you speak in English so this is why it's important to practice.

This activity is very easy and will make a difference to your speaking!



When you are doing things around the home; cleaning, making dinner, doing the gardening etc.

For example;
"I’m making lunch for my family", "I’m cutting the vegetables", "I’m pouring the water into the pan", "I’m putting it on the table"….by doing this you are re-using vocabulary, pronouncing words and connecting your ideas together." Another similar activity to the one above is; talk about past events or future events...

For example;
What you did at the weekend? or what you’re are going to do? This is a great way to practice using and practising different grammar structure .



A great activity is to describe images. This is a superb way to start using different descriptive vocabulary.

All you need to do is; when you see an image; speak about it and describe in detail what you can see, if there are people in the picture, what are they doing? You can also speculate using modal verbs. This activity is used in many different English examinations as it really does test your speaking skills.

So more suggestions for improving speaking without classes is to learn and use more advanced English vocabulary. If you’re going t follow my first piece of advice then you will no doubt find lots of new words and phrases. The idea is not to ignore them but to make an effort to record and use them. Doing this will certainly help you acquire much more vocabulary than you would In an English class. Your job is to use them and remember them.

I feel that if take the time and put my suggestions into practice it will go along way to improving your spoken English without the need for regular classes.

(Adjective)

Awesome is such a popular slang word in American English and all over the world. You’ll hear everyone from the young to old saying it. When you use the word awesome, you’re expressing that you think something is wonderful or amazing. It can be used in a sentence or it could be used in a one word reply.

You may have already heard this American slang word in the fun song “Everything Is Awesome,” which you can watch and listen to here. There are even some other words from this list in the song!

“What did you think of ‘The Wolf of Wall Street?’”

“It was awesome! I loved it!” (They thought it was a great movie).
