Fasting in a scientific and technology-driven age cannot be limited to abstaining from food alone. In a world shaped by screens, algorithms, and constant connectivity, both Christians and Muslims must rethink what self-denial truly means.

Today, fasting should also include intentional withdrawal from digital consumption—social media, endless scrolling, entertainment overload, and compulsive screen use. If food once distracted the body, technology now distracts the mind and spirit.
