Why did Karl Marx say "If anything is certain, it is that I myself am not a Marxist"?
In 1880 Marx was assisting French socialists in writing the program for the Worker's party of France, and had some serious disagreements with them. Marx had issues with demanding better work conditions and wages from the bourgeoisie. This is where the quote comes into proper context.
Marx wanted to destroy the idea that if demanding such reforms from the capitalists is believed to be mainstream Marxism, then he is not a Marxist.
The question is why Marx was against demanding such reforms in favor of the workers?
Well, for Marx those were tools to dilute the worker’s revolutionary spirit. Such reforms will keep the workers in delusion of a better future and keep them incorporated in the bourgeois culture.
In the communist manifesto, Marx warns his readers that one of the most dangerous Bourgeois is the one who will propose free healthcare and other social benefits because the workers will be appeased, not realizing their condition and their alienation and instead work within the confine of the system. Workers will not emancipate because the system will absorb them into it.
Therefore, Marx was actually destroying the delusion of the moderate socialists who did not see the need of a revolution or overthrow of the capitalist system rather resorted to parliamentary politics and democratic reforms to enhance the condition of the working class.

The ideas of the ruling class are in every epoch the ruling ideas, i.e. the class which is the ruling material force of society, is at the same time its ruling intellectual force. The class which has the means of material production at its disposal, has control at the same time over the means of mental production.

... You did everything you were supposed to do and still find yourself empty and unfilled, a realization to the broken promises of the world.
Society makes promises, unspoken contracts, particularly with women, for what it deems acceptable and appropriate,
rules that restrict you to a rigid path of being:
be a good girl,
don’t make trouble,
don’t get into trouble.
Want what we tell you to want,
get what we tell you to get, and
you will be rewarded somehow.
Want the husband and the child and the home (and it all) but for God’s sake never act like you want it.
Then, they promise, you will be satisfied.
But I’m not satisfied. I don’t know what to do with the academic degrees I earned. I don’t know if I want the babies my body is running out of time to carry.
Authors like Jeffrey Eugenides. His novel,
The Virgin Suicides, has become a modern classic exploring the depressive minds of young women.

Her very first lines in the novel:
"How angry am I ?
you dont want to know.
Nobody wants to know about that."
The invisible opponent society prepares her
decisions she was forced to make, giving up her passion (art) for a career in teaching,
losing her mother, her quiet, small life.
She rants:
“It was supposed to say “Great Artist” on my tombstone, but if I died right now it would say ‘Such a good teacher/daughter/friend’ instead; and what I really want to shout, and want in big letters on that grave, too is F**K YOU ALL.”
Section 375 of the IPC
dealing with r**e makes an exception for instances of forced in*******se within marriages and holds that “sexual in*******se by a man with his own wife, the wife not being under 15 years of age, is not r**e”.
The Justice Verma committee, formed in the wake of the 2012 Delhi gangr**e, had recommended removing the exception made for marital r**e in the law.
Similarly, the report ‘Status of Women in India’, by the high-level Pam Rajput committee of the Ministry of Woman and Child Development, criticised the legislature for its failure to criminalise or even recognise marital r**e in the Criminal Laws (Amendment) Act 2013.
But still the government has expressed its unwillingness to criminalize marital r**e.

"Kazuo Ishiguro" is the one individual genius creator who uses aesthetically sophisticated expressive forms to cast light on what we are meant to think is worthy of our life.
His Novel " Remains of the Day " is one of
Jeff Bezos’s ( Amazon CEO ) favourite books. He claims it is the foundation of his “regret-minimization framework”( https://youtu.be/jwG_qR6XmDQ ) and helped him to find the courage to start Amazon.
In this novel, story narrator retells the poignancy of his realisation how has,
in effect, wasted his life.
Through him we can trace the process by which we begin to lose the ability to separate ourselves from our professional roles, and also how class subordination ruins people’s lives.
Similar to William Faulkner's The sound and fury , where the several same events are seen successively from different points of view,
The Remains of the Day is one of those wonderful books that can be read at several levels.
Reception :
In 2007, The Remains of the Day was included in a Guardian list of "Books you can't live without"
In 2009 included in "1000 novels everyone must read" list.
Awarded the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 1989.

The population of the planet is close to 7 billion in 2012, and global output is slightly
greater than 70 trillion euros, so that global output per capita is almost exactly
10,000 euros. If we subtract 10 percent for capital depreciation and divide by 12,
we find that this yields an average per capita monthly income of 760 euros, which
may be a clearer way of making the point. In other words, if global output and the
income to which it gives rise were equally divided, each individual in the world would
have an income of about 760 euros per month.
